USA F-Open in South Africa at the Worlds

Well…. Today we weighed in. See photo. It was fun standing in line with the New Zealanders. Neat to see how all shooters are kind, friendly, and have a great sense of humor. No matter what corner of the world they come from. I believe Bowling’s rifle weighed at 9.99 Kg. Nothing like making your Captain sweat! After weigh in our team went to the 700 meter line for some practice. First thing when I got to the range, one of the Italians came up to me, and first think he said was, “ How is. Natalie doing?” Amazing how we can be at each others throats when fighting it out on the line, but show each other great compassion when not. Bless our national and international friends for her support. Every ones gun shot well, and lots of smiles were seen when coming off the line. Had a long talk with General Mac and he is doing well.
After our day at the range we met some of our SA friends who had procured wagons and chairs for the team. Took then to our storage connex on the range and went home. Did a little grocery shopping for the long days ahead.

Tomorrow is opening ceremonies for the South African championships and the first day of competition.

I got to hang with most of them during the NZ nationals in January. Great group of guys and funny as hell once you figure out what they are saying!:D

Today was our first day of competition, someone has posted the scores above, so look there. Wind was mild for f open at 700m and there were many cleans. Got a little more sporty for 800m. More full value, with rapid velocity changes. We took a break as some clouds were rolling in. Then it started to rain…. OMG!!!! It rained cats and dogs. We hid out under the shade that our ammo importer, Gun Slinger. Thank you. They ended up cancelling the 900m string and will reschedule it for tomorrow.
