What `s up with the Marine Corps?

I live near PI. Said to a Marine Captain a few weeks ago "I try to have a positive attitude, but I don't like what I am seeing on PI." He said "we don't like it either."
I was in the Corps 64-70...my Marine Corps is long gone.

Just read an article in the NY Post. It seems the Corp decided to disband the Scout Sniper Platoons. I won`t go into all the excuses for doing this, but the changes taking place in the services are troubling. Hell the Corp is changing the greeting from Maam and Sir to something else. To much of this woke crap going on. I suppose in the future the Marines with have to ask permission to shoot the enemy from them. Bad,bad bad. Jeff

In Vietnam, in some cases, our troops DID have to get permission to return fire!

I have enjoyed another in a very long line of the "sky is falling" discussion about the decline of the United States Marine Corps. The Marine Corps continues to evolve and adapt to changing circumstances and you better f**king believe it'll endure this. I have complete and total faith in the Marine Corps as an institution.

Politicians, leadership, and controversial decisions come and go but the USMC endures simply because it is the USMC.

It's an old joke, but it always makes me laugh or at least smile:

This trend began with obama with the reduced funding of the defense department and forcing career, experienced officers out. Then after sixteen years of his and bush's blunders Trump had Iran, Syria, and Afghanistan under control with little actual fighting. While Russia is struggling in Ukraine, the US trade imbalance continues to finance China's emergence to dominance. These wokesters face a rude awakening as we fade into irrelevance as a third world nation, including domestic decline, due to their policies. Unfortunately the overwhelming apathy is enabling this, but luckily there are a few signs of public resistance these days. Hopefully there are still enough good leaders in the military to hold out hope.

I read that too and wondered WTF?
Seems all the lessons learned in combat in WWII, Vietnam and the sandbox have already been forgotten.

I fear the libtard woke ideology has now taken over our military. And with the current world situation, I'm getting a bit nervous. Being schooled on pronouns instead of combat tactics can only lead to one outcome.

Do we EVER need a real leader at this juncture. But what we have is......well, we all know what we've got.

I totally agree and would suggest taking a long hard look at Col. Douglas McGregor
as a guy I would vote for in a heartbeat.
He knows war, he knows politics, he knows corruption and he can't be bought.
Also he's not part of the club.

In some instances my guess would be it could be days until an approval was received.
I have some rather strong feelings about senior officers in air conditioned trailers in Saigon reviewing requests to engage. Of course their orders came from politicians in Washington who didn’t even know what day or night it was in Vietnam.
