What `s up with the Marine Corps?

I think that the standards are an issue for some. But the bigger issue is that those who could pass the standards don't want to join anymore. You cannot tell people to hate their country, treat them like poo, and do all the crap they did to us during covid and expect people to sign up. A huge difference now is that kids post their whole lives online. Other kids see that when they're also online. So you confine people to the ship for a year or two, tell them they cannot take leave for a funeral or wedding, etc and word gets out on the internet. The average kid has MUCH more reach than they used to.

Just read an article in the NY Post. It seems the Corp decided to disband the Scout Sniper Platoons. I won`t go into all the excuses for doing this, but the changes taking place in the services are troubling. Hell the Corp is changing the greeting from Maam and Sir to something else. To much of this woke crap going on. I suppose in the future the Marines with have to ask permission to shoot the enemy from them. Bad,bad bad. Jeff
Pretty much. Welcome to Slick Joe's America.

Early Bird Brief from Defense News <news@defensenews.com>

It is free and comes to your email every day, M-F.

It will make your knees weak to know the crap that is going on. It is no longer my Marine Corps of 68-72.

Imagine battery powered tanks, personnel carriers and self propelled artillery. Get ready for it. It is on the drawing boards and contracts are being let.
So if a tank, APC, or what ever type of battle zone vehicles battery is about to be depleted, it gets to leave the battlefield and return too base to recharge its batteries ?

It takes less then ten minutes to fill the fuel tanks for a M1 Abrams. To recharge a batteries pack big enough for a M1 tank, a 60,000 ton M1 tank, would take several hours if not more.

Are U.S. military is currently run by “yes man” morons. Actually, mentally challenged morons are making the decisions for their “yes man” to institute all the wokeness.

I saw and had to deal with a fair amount of stupid decisions made by the Army brass during my three years stint. (79-82)

It appears times have changed....They really don't need human snipers. They now have robotic drones for that, with real time battlefield information, exact targeting locations, numbers, types of military and it's hardware, sent back to the command centers...instantly. Command decides how to engage, when, where, necessary hardware to employ, or who to target, the drone accurately finishes that job, instant results are observed by command...Simple...Snipers are outdated, only poor countries use them. Still somewhat effectively...but we can trace the bullet trace instantly, with new electronic equipment attached to something you can escape from...one shot and the sniper is dead too...unless it's a miss then the sniper is the only dead one. Technology and AI have come to the battlefield, making snipers ancient history... like Drawing a sword.
But a sniper is still useful if deployed correctly...and in unsuspecting areas, where the new technology hasn't been expertly deployed.
Remember the low tech Chinese weather balloon...and "the Gaps in Coverage"...excuse, or truth, ..but it's an "official statement"...Now, You Know, too.

Read an article today by a current US Army Of General that 77% of American males are physically unable to enter then Armed Forces. Now add those with drug issues and criminal history.......we are in a weak position to fight any war.

the politicians have been trying to get rid of the MC since WW 1. We will look up one day and the Marine Corps will be neutered leaving only the Presidents Own Band and a Silent Drill Team at 8th& I.
Then Antifa will come in and tear down the Iwo Jima Memorial.

Those numbers are fairly accurate. Also, don't forget the ones that cannot do basic math 2+2=4

"Standing up our own course allows us to train up Recon snipers internally, and it allows the regular infantry to fill more seats in the legacy course,” RTC Commanding Officer Capt. Benjamin Lowring said."

They saw this coming and acted accordingly.
