The old RCBS is gone

Called RCBS today to get a price quote on a die set for an obsolete caliber. I was informed by Robin they dont have it, and they ‘used to have a custom die shop but it closed a long time ago’.

Tried emailing them through their website to make a formal, written, polite statement of disappointment but they dont allow enough spaces to type anything of substance.

I realized Fred Huntington aint sticking a hand written note in with orders anymore but I didnt realize they had given up on being THE reloading die company.

I was afraid this would happen so I snagged an RCBS .30 Remington die set that Grafs had in stock. Turned out to be the last one in their inventory.

I had just posted a thread on the same piss poor support of RCBs. I am with you, no longer a fan.

I recently returned (on my dime) a malfunctioning hand primer. Recieved a brand new one as a replacement.

I was disappointed 20 years ago, when I was in town, to learn they no longer do factory tours.

second that. I have made it a point to have zero chicom loading tools on my bench. I think I am there. Anyone else?
Yeah Me— Id like to have all US made loading tools on my bench. I think I am there but some of this stuff isnt marked that ican tell so i dont know for sure. For example I wonder when RCBS moved die manufacturing overseas- prob was a gradual thing—- do you know? Are the ones with the date stamped on top all US made?? thanks

Try Huntington die specialties, they once stocked a lot of hard to find dies & parts.

I contacted them over my Chargemaster and they were unable to help out. They do not repair their own products (I mean paid repairs). They offer only 12 months warranty for their products (EU minimum=24 months).

Back in the 70's, if it was green I bought it. Same with Speer bullets, the shelves were packed with them. Today they are tough to find locally. Time marches on and so have I. Back in the day I called RCBS for a replacement part. Got on the phone with a member of the family. My great uncles used to elk hunt with Fred. A long conversation later with Fred Huntington I hung up the phone. That was when long distance cost real money.

Just checked Huntingtons website. They lay it all out in plain English about RCBS. Don’t know quite how theyre related to RCBS but theyre still doing what RCBS doesn’t. Glad to see all hope is not lost.
