my understanding is that it is like plugging 220v into a 12v circuit ... things would frySome electronics could recover quickly, especially battery powered devices.

I could stand to drop a few pounds but missing NCIS episodes would be disaster. These items being marketed for emp attacks are just like all the y2k stuff. If we have an emp attack these things that are worrying you are are least of your worries. Everytime they test this they bring the EBT ststem down for a few hours and anarchy ensues. Dont worry about trying to save your electronics, worry about saving your food supply.
I might need whats inside my safe to do thatworry about saving your food supply.
I'm concerned with ME getting into my safe in the event of an EMP.People that want to get inside your safe can do so much quicker and cheaper than using an EMP. typically an angle grinder with a diamond wheel will open the top of safe in under one minute. No need to go all high tech to enter 99.9% of home safes.

You may ought to plan ahead on that like one of those fake fireplace mantels that hold a cheap AR and a stash of ammo in the back of a closet. Maybe a small mechanical safe in the back of a closet.I'm concerned with ME getting into my safe in the event of an EMP.
Pretty sure angle grinders won't work if there is an EMP
Thanks for that ........ but maybe I will try the advise in the videoYou may ought to plan ahead on that like one of those fake fireplace mantels that hold a cheap AR and a stash of ammo in the back of a closet. Maybe a small mechanical safe in the back of a closet.
Yea hes got it figured out for sure. Thanks for that ........ but maybe I will try the advise in the video
Precious metals (Gold & Silver)? I consider Precious metals to be Lead & Brass!I could stand to drop a few pounds but missing NCIS episodes would be disaster.
Funny how, when Y2K was upon us, guys wanted to brag about their preparations. It was surprising how many would have bottled water, survival food stores, precious metals (gold & silver), etc but have no firearms. They would always finish with "what have you done to prepare?". My answer:
"I stocked up on lead and listened to all you with no guns tell where to shop".
Positively maybe ? ? ?Yea hes got it figured out for sure.![]()
Sir, When was the first EMP event? I guess I missed it.I think the EMP delivery mode would have great bearing on the lasting effects.
Some electronics could recover quickly, especially battery powered devices.
Others, such as our power grid, could be virtually destroyed IF the EMP was delivered to just the right area of the grid. Otherwise, outages would be somewhat localized.
As for my opinion, if the USA suffers another EMP it will be a specific area and will be delivered by (well) US.
That's a real fear of mine too, Just imagine listening to her nagging..... what uh sorry wasn't listening, Hey got any of that lotion left ????? I think I see a dry spot right thereI’m more worried about Jennifer Aniston falling in love with me.![]()
