Ideas on how to protect digital safes

I changed my digital lock to a dial lock not especially in fear of an EMP, but the digital locks fail. I had two digital locks fail to operate effectively; it took several tries to open the safe. The manufacturer replaced the locks at no cost, but I saw a future problem; Murphy's Law.
Dial locks fail too. Most dial locks are made in China also.

I use these guys..

S&G digital locks are what failed on me twice.
Locksmith said they were the worst of the digital locks. Cheap, cheap cheap

If an emp sets us back to 1823, that safe wont be your biggest worry.
I agree, however, I can only plan so far in advance. Have some of the other stuff I may need sorted out as best I can. But more than likely, I will need to get into the safe.

OR you could just change out the digital lock for the standard S&G 3-number combination lock and have peace of mind, AND be able to open your safe any time you choose.

We are far too dependent on electronics!
This is why I didn't fall for the sales pitch to "upgrade" to electronic lock when I bought my safe. The standard S&G with the key option is good enough for me and haven't used the key yet.
