Newb question -- resized cases won't chamber?

The pics shows clearly the neck was swagged down partially (by a bushing or the seat die?) and shows longitudinal striations here that you normally see when resizing. These lines are absent from the die body- but remember he had the die adjusted in a way it could not do any sizing-IF in fact he was using the sizing die.
Makes me appreciate chamber style seaters even more- so much more simpler.

Welp.. I'm dumb, and you guys are awesome, I really appreciate the advice.. I just did a fresh piece of brass, bumped it 0.001" using the comparator thing, and it chambered perfectly. For posterity's sake, things I did dumb:
1. I had the brass in the shell holder when I set up the sizing die, so it was nowhere near the shell plate, and thus didn't resize a damn thing.
2. I used the RCBS "jaws" trimmer that chewed up the bottom of the brass
3. I didn't trim evenly somehow -- pretty decent 0.0007 difference depending on the rotation of the brass in my calipers

I honestly loved reading this. People coming together to help someone out.
I today loaded some 20 rounds to do load testing for my 223 tikka varmint. Decided to chamber a round and bolt wont close.
I used some lc brass friend gave me from his departments range.
Silly me i sized the bras with the neck sizing die not the fl.
So we all make mistakes and when in doubt figure it out before proceeding

Glad you came back and gave us a update. Stay with these guys, the only way to learn is to ask questions and apparently we love to try to help in anyway we can.

Hang in there you got pass this and learned something new
reloading is a great learning experience and verry enjoyable.

You did put a bushing in to size the neck? Not trying to simplify it too much but if you are "new" new then this is easily overlooked.
I don't have a neck sizing die.. just the FL sizing die and seating die that came in the hornady set.. I didn't put a bushing in, but I thought it had one built in?

As previously stated you must have (if you have FL bushing dies) a bushing to size the neck, without it would be hard to get the case back in the chamber.
