Beam scale

Recently posted a wanted add for a quality beam scale. That post may have been a bit premature. I quickly had multiple offers to sell rcbs 1010 scales which based on my research are solid scales. However, some folks reccomended the lyman m5 which i do think i prefer over the 1010 barrel adjust option. However the poo brown color gets me... would much rather have the ohaus version or if rcbs ever had one modeled after that scale. I have a cosmetic hangup kreping me from going with the lyman. Would i be better off with a parker tuned 1010 over a layman m5?

My 50-year-old Ohaus went south a few years ago. I purchased a Lyman Brass Smith 500 beam balance replacement and have been completely satisfied.

It holds zero and is accurate to within .1 grains.

PS: I check periodically with calibration weights.

I have been thinking about doing this for folks for years. I can tune a scale as well as anyone. There are about a dozen things to tweak. I have sold a few locally and one here. BUT I would buy good old ones, tune, pretty up and then sell vs: taking in a customer's one and $$ and then not returning calls or emails for 6 months. The M5 is the king.

Scott Parker tuned scales are GREAT

I would buy a dozen YES I WOULD

but I need them in my house and tested before I,buy

a couple of guys the last guy from grande prairie hates me as I recommended Scott and he lost
all his money

I talked to Scott over a year ago and he offered to get one to me but I declined because of
my health and I am at an age where I just need certainty in my life
Scott I,think is a good person with good intentions but one of the worst business models in real life

again seems to be a nice guy and I get flick for saying this as his knowledge is really good and a friend
jas a ribs 1010 that is PERFECT and I,wish,I,had one but I,can’t take the chance

sorry if I offended anyone but

I offered to buy his knowledge and then do it but did not succeed

he needs a dealer to seek COMPLETED SCALES and just say whether they are in stock or not
life may have gotten in the way of doing the scales,
to his credit he wants to repair scales and make people happy with the end product

just manufacturing completion glitch’s in his current business model

i have respect for him, just not confident in dealing with him

hope I have not been to harsh just frustrated I never was able to have one in my house

ordered a super trickler instead

Scott Parker has deceived too many people on many forums so I dont know why his name in scale discussions is even brought up anymore. If you even need to hunt him down then my guess would be to go to the casino closest to his address.

I have had recent dealings with Scott. It was first class all the way.

The RCBS 304 I have is probably my favorite scale. I know they aren't really tunable, but they are too cool!

and here it goes again...positive reviews for a while and then people screaming ! Get a grip! How can there be 100's of posts of seriously p'eed of customers and all of a sudden we get a few posts of smooth sailing and then all is forgotten? with no explanation or apology ever posted!!! Yaah I have a beef with this con artist cause he tried to con me but I was prepared and beat him at his game 6 yrs ago.
