Looking for someone that chambers .204 Ruger barrels - AR15, 26" +2 HV

I'm looking for someone that chambers .204 Ruger barrels - AR15, 26" +2" H. Varmint barrel that won't break the bank. I know White Oak Armory use to (that's what I'm shooting now.) They only offer it in 24". Nice price at approx. $450.00 shipped, and they shot very well. This build is used to shoot P. Dogs. Suggestions?

Do you get much gain in velo with the extra 2" of barrel length in a gas gun? A small case like a .204 may have peaked pressure at the +2 gas port.

FYI. The 2" difference in length looks to be 60 to 70 fps using Benchmark and a 40 grain bullet.

Not sure myself. The 26" barrel from WOA came with a +2" as well as a gas block and gas tube. My .40gr reloads were zipping along at approx. 3,675 FPS according to my LabRadar without really pushing it. Very accurate load as well.

GRT [Gordon's Reloading Tool] says that with a 24" barrel, the muzzle velocity would be around 3610 with the same load you're using.

That said, with a new barrel, the actual muzzle velocity could easily be +/- 50 fps due simply to the different barrel.

You might give WOA a call to see if they'd make a 26" barrel and, if so, what the cost would be.

PS. You won't go wrong with a barrel from Walt Krafft.

I called WOA and they said they no longer spin up 26" pipe.
What's the name of Walt Krafft's website?

Just spec’d one out on Xcalibers website, you’d be right at 460$

I have chambered up quite a few of there blanks and been very happy.

A couple years ago I installed a Mcgowen barrel chambered in 204. I’m not sure if they still make them.
I was building a light weight coyote gun and went with a 16” small profile.
I was truly surprised how well it shot with factory ammo. The heavier profiles probably shoot even better.
Just another option.

I'm getting $430 for a 26", AR barrel in 223. [PSA: X caliber usually has 20% of sales around many of the holidays.

FYI. It costs $80 to go from 24" to 26".

The same barrel from McGowen is $380.
The website says there is a Black Friday sale still going on.
