What is the go to BR Gun Case now that Plano Air glides are discontinued?

The Plano Field Lockers are great for longer guns - it can support up to, I believe, 56-57”. I have 2 and they are very durable with nice wheels with bearings, but not overbuilt for personal transport like a Pelican case. Despite being much bigger, it’s the same empty weight as the Pelican 1760 53” case.

To be fair, If I flew with my high-dollar rifles, I’d get one of the SKB or Pelican cases meant for the 50-cals and get some custom foam cut for them.

What brand/type you get may depend on how long your rig is. The long softsided cases from Creedmore will fit the 55" LR rifles just fine.

Used air glide for couple of years. When hauling multiple guns, broke latches when sliding guns out of truck bed. Also, they flipped over easily. Started using Vault 770 and really well pleased.

The best thing about the AirGlide cases is no side load on the scope.

The older Doskosil Gun Guard two gun cases are nice for a single BR gun. They have a good full length metal piano hinge and metal latches. -Al

Indestructible, lockable if you fly and the ability to not worry whether your 6 - 7,000.00 rifle is secure and protected or not
