Benchrest stock makers

I personally like Scarborough or Roy hunters. They are works of art. Roy Hunter you would have to find used. Scarborough, there is a wait, but it’s made custom order. I think around 1500. The Roy Hunter is what ever the going rate is if you see one on here. Or mentioned above the McMillen is very popular for HV and cheaper, but still a wait unless you can find used

Seems BR is a non money making venue. F class, PRS & Hunting is where it's gone.
I heard only 25 + - kelbys were ordered last year for BR.

Irregardless, thats what this post was about

I have a run of non inleted laminated 3-in bench rest stocks that are currently in production and will be here soon. I will be offering them for 399 and they are completely finish sanded ready for finish with a butt pad installed. These are flat top stocks and can be inleted to pretty much any action.

But the response from offering these to people is they kind of turn their nose up at them because they're used to their Kelbly or their McMillan or whatever. Like a laminated stock will not shoot as good as a composite stock. But nonetheless I am going to offer them and they are significantly less expensive than the old offerings.

Shehane made laminated br stocks for a while. Theyve been out there for many years

Right and they cost twice or more of than the ones I will be offering. My point is that I'm trying to offer this non inleted version that can be inleted for custom actions and I would also be interested in partnering with someone who would inlet them for customers and I will supply the blanks. That would be my contribution to the shortage of stocks.

With these other companies turning their nose up at this small market It creates other opportunities for people like myself who are smaller to fill this niche

I feel they will do good. Maybe @JasonT can do some inletting on the side for you.
