It's rough living in the south

Yea Yankees jus t don't get it they want to change it to be just like where they came from. Jus finished a plate of catfish fillets,, and hush puppies
Yeah their pretty strange bunch, one of my trapping buddies from the UP told me about how they had fish boils, sent me pictures and all I could ask was what they used to season the fish. Said " o we dont fist from clean lake water don't need no fancy seasoning" ..... Like... umm ok y'all have fun with that o_O:D

OP you are pretty much spot on.
Most gas stations up here it’s several hour old pizza by the slice, dried out several time re-time stamped “fresh hot samiches” or you can also take a chance on an egg salad samich. The latter of which could result in way too much throne time.

This thread reaffirms what I was sent to Mother Superior’s Office for about 67 years ago. The question was, “Why do birds migrate?” My answer evidently was wrong. “They go South for food and north for sex”. I mean what was wrong with that? Don’t they breed up here?

Yes sirr been going to it since it was a little corner store, happy to see it's gotten as big as it has. The one in McComb ain't as good imo
Looks like I need a road trip. My next door neighbor loaded up about a month ago and moved to Shubuta Ms. No, his house didn't have wheels on it. Sold this house and bought one on the Chickasawhay River. Said he was tired of living around a bunch of people.

In the mid-60s, rode with my father on his 18-wheeler dump trailer delivering gravel and agricultural lime. Was on the backroads off US90 in Southern Louisiana between Morgan City and Lafayette. Those little restaurants had the greatest daily specials for $1 that I still remember almost 60 years later.

I worked at a full service gas station way back when I was in high school (69-73). Would go to a small "hole in the wall cafe" for lunch most days, get a meat and 2 veggies for like $3 or so, I really can't remember the price. Great food, good service, and the outside looked like a place you would never step foot in (unless you knew it was good food). I remember the "fried pies and ice cream" for desert on paydays too. ;)

I was at a restaurant in west Texas and a lady came in and noted all the border patrol vehicles out front. She said eat where the border patrol eats cause they probably have good food. I thought to myself cheap too because they're a tight fisted bunch.
