The best part about living down South, is while the North is preping for snow and cold, we are enjoying the great outdoors in shorts.

Whenever I visit family in West Baton Rouge Parish I always load my firearms and ammo first to make sure there's room. My wife brings two large ice chests. Besides loading up on homemade Cajun food she's well known at the local butchers. I cannot leave on our last day without a case of Cajun Power spaghetti sauce, a case of Louisianne Dark Roast w/chicory coffee, and stopping at "Coffee Call" on College Dr for beignets.

Lived up North for 53 years, and it was enjoyable. But I don’t miss it anymore Temperature below 50 is cold, compared to -20f.

A fat cook is the sure sign of good food.

I disagree, fat patrons are a sure sign of good and plentiful food. If you are ever in a strange town and want to know where the best restaurants are, ask fat locals. Learned that from an old road warrior that I worked with during the Y2K computer fiasco back in the day.

Down here in the south you look for a bbq place with a pig on the sign or a parking lot full of bucket trucks. You see bucket trucks piled up anywhere just go on and plan on eating there

Each time I go to AR and visit family one dip gaining weight. My favorite things to get are good BBQ and good fried catfish, those two things really do not exist here in AK. I’ve promised my wife when I retire for good we will leave AK and move back south. I will really hav to watch my waist line for sure then.
