Auto charge powder dispensers

Just by chance, I caught this YT video where he reviews several of the currently available models.

I don't have the ones he shows here, so no personal opinion on this good or bad. YMMV

The reviewer was dinging Intellidrop. Ii is not perfect and the quality of its housing needs a lot of improvement. However, for its intended function, powder dropping, it is just works

Did you catch the part at 07:58 where the point he was making is it failed?

He still gave an over all good review of the unit and liked it, right up to the point where the whole keypad failed. That is kind of hard to ignore if the seller cannot fix or replace it.

The review is a value to folks who are shopping, to hear his honesty and to see the performance of several of today's models all in one place. Folks still have to make up their own minds.

To be fair, all of them have had some reports of failures, but some of them have had so many that the internet is clogged with the stories. Unfortunate truth is, we don't get to see the statistics of failure rates on stuff like this.

I just consider myself lucky when my old model ChargeMasters have not failed. I have gifted a few of the newer ChargeMaster Link units, but have read and heard about failures on those as well.

I have no opinions good or bad of the latest ones. I still run a pair of ChargeMasters on certain tasks, but anything picky is better units.

I am lucky so far, mine did not fail, and it is working fine. I may be disappointed when it fails, as it would be out of warranty. My Hornady Auto-Charge served me very well, but it also died, and it was out of warranty too.
Those dispensers should be considered disposable after a few years of good use.
I wished those have lifetime warranty. GemPro had one and replaced my GemPro 250 after the first failure and bought back mine after the second failure due to discontinuation of the GemPro 250.

Probably at least 4 chargemasters and 3 intellidropers....always hauled inside vehicle to matches.

Went to a good scale, forget which one, and a dandy trickler, then a V4...expensive but it's great.

My first auto system was a Lyman 2. I still have it and it still performs to spec, =/- 0.1 grains as tested with my FX. I use it for hunting load practice and it gives me more than adequate rounds for that. I do use my V3 for actual hunting loads and 600 yard BR and F-Class, and will soon get my V4 to start using. My other experience was with a Hornady that never worked well and a Lyman 6 that drifted too much to satisfy me, although when it settled down I did like the auto pan refill. I also used the Lyman 6 to dump a short charge and a Little Dandy to trickle up to the charge weight on a Gem-Pro 250. This gave me very good results but the frequent need to re-calibrate the Gem-Pro drove me crazy. I had heard from fellow shooters how good the Charge Masters were especially the newer models and was considering one but decided to go with the V 3 instead and do not regret it.

You can link it to your phone using blue tooth and Franford app. If you had a defective tounch pad. I've had mine for 2 plus years and its always outside at the range on a table working fine. Its been dropped, filled with Texas dust wind storms more than once, been in the extreme summer heat, and still keeps on ticking.
I think its all about the battery. It needs a solid 12 to 12.5 volts with good no drop in voltage during operation. Some of the batteries and plug in do not deliver.
