i havent had an atomic fireball for awhile- gotta find some of them---I don't have any money so I'm good..they steal my card number and maybe they can buy a box of toothpicks..and a Atomic Fireball...ching ching
Wife had her card compromised and the cc company cancelled the card and issued a new one, new card number was compromised before it ever got here, while still in the mail. All told she has probably had her card reissued 8 times in the last 4 years and the cc company just writes everything off even when they have the hackers address, makes no sense too me.
It probably costs more to investigate and prosecute someone from afar than to just write it off. Unless it's a large amount the local police and DAs don't really care.
I don't use B of A for recurring payments anymore because they've closed and re-opened my account too many times. No issues with Chase so far. I believe that all of my card issuers do an excellent job from a security standpoint.
I have but one card , and it never leaves my hands .crazy, just happened to me this week!!! 4 charges on 1 card and 6 on another![]()
Most common place to get your CC compromised is at the gas station/convenience store. if you card can tap instead of swipe that is the best way to make a purchase, tap provides one time code for that transaction at the time no card skimming. It dont need to leave your hands Joe...for them to get ya.
My son is in law enforcement. He deals with this. You may think they don't care. You have no idea how frustrated they are about it. 99% of the time it goes out of the US. Pretty hard to go get themThe reason they rarely catch them is that they don't try. Neither law enforcement nor the credit card company give a shit. Law enforcement doesn't have the time at local, state or federal levels and the credit card companies write it off. It's aggravating. Happened to me in the past. Resulted in fantasies of catching the perps and pistol whipping them within an inch of their lives.
That’s just unbelievable. The credit card companies are a joke when it comes to resolving issues. Had a card number stolen, let's say from the stage coach bank. Spent several hours over three days on the phone with the stage coach bank. Had to do fraud alerts and a credit freeze, severe pain in the ass. Got it fixed, I thought. When new card never arrived, called stage coach bank. The morons mailed my new card to the address the identity thief had used. No joke. They sent it to the jerk off who had stole it and charged over $8,500 on it. So I immediately closed all accounts with the "stage coach bank".
I have text alerts and 3 months ago I record a text for. $349 purchase!!! Called cc company and they cancelled card and took care of the charge.Set up text alerts and you'll know it as soon as it happens.
Well I could have used his help. The perp who did it did it in another part of the state. Local police told me to contact the police at the location where the crime occurred. I did. They told me to contact the company that had the fraud perpetrated, a large well known cell phone company. It took two weeks for them to send me the info they had and required my requesting the material in writing. When I had it, the remote police said my local police should deal with it. I called my local police and told them what the other police said and told them about the hoops I had to jump through to the details. They finally agreed. I dropped the material off and called a week later. They said it was too old to pursue. It was only three weeks old and they had a lot of phone numbers they could have followed to catch the perp.My son is in law enforcement. He deals with this. You may think they don't care. If i had your money, id use mine to keep warm this wintercrazy, just happened to me this week!!! 4 charges on 1 card and 6 on another![]()
Get used to that, after the ruling to allow C.C. companies to report sales to the Gov. What next? JeffBy bank keeps flagging purchases I am making...one of which is Brownell's. I've purchased from them hundreds of times but now it takes a call to the credit card company to unfreeze my account and allow permission for the purchase. I think this is part of the "nudge" into compliance.
They want to hit us from every angle. Suspicious timing, the UPS, FED-EX, and USPS shipping policies changing without a single law change coming at the same time as this new credit processing rule change.Get used to that, after the ruling to allow C.C. companies to report sales to the Gov.
