Seen this before. Hornady confirmed it's from head stamping die.Head stamp overlays ring from what I can see.
My thoughts are the rings were there before you fired otherwise head stamp would be distorted.
Take a good look at top left piece.

Till i noticed gas leakage around the primer on 2 cases. On firing, the primer backs out an additional .003" to make contact with the bolt face.Lots of excitement over no big deal

The defective headstamp, now split necks. Multiple defects.normal life-cycle.
Scuze me , hornadyUsed to run 7.62 at lake city. That looks like a defect from an operation called headturn. Its supposed to cut the case head the right spec after heading operation. Those look like an old rimmed case. I dont know how they make cases at Federal but thats what it would have been at lake city. Doug
