Bill. I make my own match bullets now and I squirt my own cores. I tried my first match with my 125's in June at a two day match in Augusta, ME. I shot a 250-22x for 2nd at 100. I dropped a point at 200 and shot a 249-12X for 4th and came in 3rd in the Grand Agg with a 499-34. Not halfway bad for my first match with my 125's.

Frankie, I did some fire forming for my 30BRS from Brud with 35.3 grains and Berger 115s. I was impressed with this shot in the darks load. It would still need a bit of tweaking to make it match ready, but it did show potential. I haven't tried it in my 30 BR yet.

Which ones? I have shot 125 Bergers and Speer TNT's. Not sure Berger even makes the 125s anymore but they shot well. My favorite light 30 berger was their 110's. Again, discontinued, though. Berger use to would make just about anything with a 10,000 piece order. Not that many if you split it with someone. They may have discontinued that as well.
The Speer 125 tnt is the bargain of them all, though. I've had a couple of barrels over the years that would shoot those about as well as any bullet, custom or otherwise. I never developed the trust I needed in them that I wanted but it really wasn't as much because of how they shot as it was about...how could a cheapo bullet possibly shoot that well, kinda thing. I definitely recommend trying them if you haven't. My current bbl doesn't seem to like them, or they've slipped..but the old ones really shot way above they're price point.
Seems like I tried the Sierra too, a long time ago now, without anything to get excited about.
You might check with Randy Robinette. I think he makes one. Same goes for some other custom makers. Wouldn't be surprised if some others do or will.
FWIW, I think a little heavier bullet is a good thing in a 30br with h4198 because it helps build starting pressure with that powder, which is just a tick slow in that case.

Most people that have been around them for a while will acknowledge that as good as it is, H4198 is still a tad slower than ideal...or at least most lots. One way to help overcome that is by using a little heavier bullet, just to optimize everything. Ultimately, it's not as important as most other factors are. So, if you have a good load with 112's and a bbl that likes them, go with it. But it won't hurt to test other bullets and combos and I think that a little heavier bullet is the right direction. to go...all else equal.
Of course there will be examples of someones gun coming alive with xxx brand of 108's, for example. That only means exactly that, and that's all. It's a good cartridge and there are lots of combinations that are proven to work well in it...which is a tribute to it being a very good cartridge. Personally, I think N120 may have the ultimate potential in it because it is a bit faster but I'm as guilty as most and haven't tested it much. If it had an equivalent amount of testing as h4198, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see it as an improvement. Even if that came down to equal performance, n120 meters better than any powder I've ever used and the older lots were so consistent that I shot the same charge for 10 plus years with it(in a 30 Major). The caveat to that is that the more recent lots were adjusted and messed that all up. It does seem like the newer stuff is at least pretty consistent again, but a tad slower, after a period of inconsistency from lot to lot.
Bill that's all I use is H4198 when shooting my 125's. If u look at most of the IBS score records, there are more records shot with lightweight bullets than anything else as of late. I also have been making 108's and 110's and they have shot really well. My 2nd last shoot with my 110's scored 22X's for a first place finish. It was only the 2nd match I shot with them and I was FF brass in the first 3 matches and scored 14X's out of 15.

Yea, I'm just trying to get a load worked up with my hunter 1-15 Tw. barrel with 125 gr. and H-4198. VV-N133 works O K but I'm almost out of it.
