Resizing 30/30 brass is inconsistant

Remington, Winchester, and Federal cases are full length recized using a Lyman die.

Some cases won't lock in using a Marlin 336, and some will.
Anybody else have this problem?

Range pick up or fired from your rifle??
Empty sized cases or loaded?
I've run into issues with loaded ammo and case length variations and crimping. The long cases were buckling at the shoulder(pushed down due to length)ever so slightly and not chambering

You may be buckling the shoulder a bit.
I don’t have good faith in Lyman dies.

I use my full length sizing dies without the neck expander/depriming pin in it.....just size the case itself. Then I run the sized brass thru a Lee collet type neck sizing die. No pulling on that brass to get it over that neck expander. Helps with my runout also....

Close to what I do with my 6.5 Grendel AR15 except I start with a Redding bushing die with the bushing removed.

When I run into a chamber/brass fit problem I start at the beginning.Adjust the sizing die according to the instructions that come with the die.Size a few and see if they will chamber.Check case length and trim if needed and clean the primer pockets.Check a few again.Prime, charge and seat the bullet.Try to chamber them again. That's how I do it.I don't like to get done loading a batch and find out that none of them will chamber.Reloading is best one careful step at a time. When a problem shows up,break the process down into small segments and troubleshoot one thing at a time until you get to the bottom of the problem.Die adjustment will give you problems no matter what you're loading,so make very certain it's properly done.Don't go by how Joe Schmoe the online quarter minute of angle expert does it,set your dies up as instructed my the manufacturer. As you get more experience, you may be able to deviate from that, but only very carefully.Dies are very rarely at fault, but how they're adjusted almost always is.

Could be you’re seating the bullet too long, too.
We need more info, with measurements. Length to shoulder of your new brass, fired brass and resized brass.

So what you are saying is that the shoulder may be buckling because of the neck sizing in the fl die.
I believe I have a lee collet die. Can it be used for both neck sizing and crimping?

After full length sizing the case necks were measured at the top, middle and right at the grease ring where the neck and shoulder meet. .0325, 0.326, and 0.327.

I think the OP may be looking at the factory crimp die. Both the FC die and the collet still sing dies use collets. If the collet neck size die had no top all the guts would fall out.

If this is fired brass and not in the same rifle, you may play heck getting it to size down and work. I have about 6-8 30-30 dies and sets. There are as many different dies as there are chambers in rifles. Yeah yeah SAMMI but there can be a big difference in dimensions from gun to gun and die to die.

I have had issues in years past with Lyman dies.
Ya got all your booger pickers, feel the case that won’t chamber and compare to one that does.

My money is on a web issue or shoulder.
Inside dimensions of the die are short and brass is at max length and it will mess that shoulder up.
Played with 30-30 and cast for years. TC’s Marlin, Winchester lever guns and a few bolts, they can be hugely different in size and dimensions.
