Cci primers

I’ve always used BR4 primers, but had a few hundred 400’s. To use up those 400’s since I wasn’t going to buy any more, I loaded them up for my 223 bolt gun. And then, later decided to shoot them in my AR. That brought on an unexpected problem. My primer seater, when used on new Lapua brass (tight primer pockets) flattened those soft primer cups a bit. Wasn’t much, but it was too much. It only happened once, but I squeezed the trigger on the AR and cranked off a 3 round burst. Shocked me for sure. I guess I had flattened a couple of primer cups too much. I switched to CCI 41’s and 450’s. I want the thicker primer cups.

The CCI 450 and 41 primers have thicker cups for the express purpose of preventing slamfires like you had.
