CZ 457 Varmint

I just picked up a CZ 457 Varmint in .22LR. It's doesn't have a match chamber. Does this mean I can't shoot "Match" labelled ammo through it? I'm not familiar at all with anything other than bulk plinking/hunting ammo for the .22LR, but want to learn.

You can shoot Match ammo in it.
Match ammo is usually lower velocity, around 1070 fps, and is usually a round nose. Generally speaking Match ammo will give you smaller groups because of the better quality control on it, but it also comes at a higher price.

Thank you very much! And, thanks for not tearing me up over my ignorance on the topic. "You don't know, what you don't know", right?

Could you show us a pic of your new rifle, I have been curious to what one looks like in real life since the article in the Bulletin came out about them!

I'll see if I can get one up tonight or tomorrow sometime. The stippling on the forearm feels AMAZING. Way nicer in my opinion than checkering, but maybe doesn't look as classy as checkering, IMO.

I posted picture of my wife gun. Please post yours when you can.

What pic rail adapter is that? Looks like it adds quite a bit of height....I've got an Area 419 rail adapter coming in the mail soon, have to see what it looks like.
I can't remember the brand she got, but she wanted extra height as she does not use cheek on the stock. It is twice the height as the Area 419. I had a 419 on my MTR. It will work perfect on your rifle.

Good to hear, thanks for the info!

Also picked up a new take-off Scout stock for it, looks like it'll fit my boy alot better.

The only 22lr ammo l'm unable to shoot/chamber in my MTR are CCI Stingers. These cases are a hair longer than standard 22lr cases

Not trying to criticize but it seems like that scope is mounted awfully high for a stock with a low and non adjustable comb. Are you getting a good cheek weld? You might consider either adding a riser or ( the easier route) getting a set of low rings to drop that a bit.

The gun is only used for ARA Factory Class targets. She does not touch the stock with her cheek when she shoots. Only light shoulder pressure and minimum pressure with the right hand. Timney trigger about 8 oz pull.
