If you want you can run a simple test with your smartphone. Pick a simple commercial product that is advertised. A product you have zero interest in and haven’t search. Now set your phone on the table and have a conversation about similar products with a friend. Don’t type any search or text messages with anything about it. Now pick up your phone and go to some websites with advertising. Watch the ads displayed and see if you don’t get ads targeting you about the product you only talked about with your friend. That’s just the creepy commercial exploitation of the audio surveillance. The first time I noticed it was probably five years ago.
I was at lunch with friends and a friend was telling us about someone he knew who used to be a pro wrestler and was now a bodyguard for stars. I got back to my truck and opened my phone and I’m getting ads for tickets to a wrestling match. I have absolutely zero interest in fake wrestling or any wrestling and have no search or text conversation talking wrestling. I asked my friends about their phone ads and everyone at the table had wrestling ads after our lunch conversation. The Snowden leak describes the collection of data and some further talks about the internet of things and how things like your TV and refrigerator are listening. Anything plugged into the power grid is able to be online. Any Bluetooth enabled device. Yes , the power lines carry data just fine. The only type of privacy left in a modern home is the vast amount of data collected. Hence the drive for artificial intelligence to search the vast amounts of data for useful information.

My home camera system is the only one turned on on my ohone and i do not get the “i heard you talking about this so here it is” ads. Also go to apple advertising in privacy and turn that off. However having a computer on, with my own T-Mobile gateway,
more then likely I'm getting punked somewhere !! Just click anything
google. Within milliseconds their backbone servers have you zeroed in.
