Gempro Scales

Anyone seen the new Gempro scales on eBay. They run around $248 to $268. Says accurate to 0.002 to 0.004. Wonder if they are reliable? Allen

I'd buy from myweight .. it's gempro 300 i believe.
A scale is about confidence .. buy what you'd feel good about. I for one trust the price point..... Cheap = cheap.
Just my opinion i don't claim to "know".

I used a Gempro 250 for many years. It was very reliable and accurate to one kernel of powder (.02gn). I loaded a lot of good ammo with that scale.
Same here. Still have the GP250 and use it regularly. Very reliable.

Actually sold my AnD FX-120i because it wouldn’t hold zero or stay calibrated as well as my GP250

I am now happy with the FA dispenser. I have GemPro like digital scale that is repetitively accurate but sometimes may drift. GemPro 250 was an excellent little unit. It was bought back after it failed.

My gempro worked well for the money. It did drift. I sold it to help fund a fx120i. Will I'll never be able to shoot the difference in these scales to a beam scale The gempro was my second favorite scale behind the 120i.

That is like I sold my Nightforce because my Barska tracks better, strange.

On a different note, Gempro recalled the GP300 and if you had a receipt they refunded you the full amount and did not want the scale returned.

I still use use my GP300 for secondary weight checks but my primary is my AnD FX-300.

I have a gem pro 500 and it's a very accurate scale. I've had it several years now and I use it a lot. When or if it ever goes bad I'll up grade to something else.

The GP250 is a pile of smoking crap. I bought one from Old Will Knott in early 2013. It's a strain guage (load cell) balance and as such prone to drifting only on days ending with a y. I discovered that over time to my great dismay. I bought my A&D FX-120 within a few months and mothballed the GP250. The A&D FX-120 is a magnetic force restoration scale and provided you stay away from fluorescent lighting, protect the balance from air currents, and place it on solid surface, it's utterly dependable. I have been using mine for 8 years, and I store it in a closet. I bring it out when I need to use it and I don't bother letting it "warm-up."

About 3 years ago, I read on another discussion site, where someone had tried to get his GP250 replaced, and they discovered that the company had been bought by another outfit and they had refunded his purchase of the GP250 because they could not replace it as all their GP250 in stock were defective.

So, I contacted that company, HBI International (MyWeigh), and got the same experience. I had the original invoice and I sent them a copy. They asked that I ship them back the scale and sent me a refund in full.

I just checked and OldWillKnott is not listing anything from Gempro. I went to hbiin.com and under the brand MyWeigh, they only list one Gempro, the GP300. Lesson learned, stay away from Gempro.

I am bummed because I bought my Gempro from OldWillKnott and cannot for the life of me find my receipt. I called them up and they said that because they switched systems they no longer have a copy of the purchase. Now I have the scale just sitting.

My GP250 went haywire about 9 years ago. It’s sitting in a tote full of other stuff. I really should throw the pos out one of these days.

GemPro is a typical low end chinese product sporting a fancy name with good marketing. Thats why for every one guy praising them there are 2 others calling them a pos. Luck of the draw.
Ironic part is for same $ can buy a proper professional grade scale in the same handy size!

I have a myweigh palmscale that is 17 yrs old and still works fine. Same importer but luck of the draw. GemPro dosent make scales they just buy them from chinese factories. Some good some recalled as mentioned above

Ditto

All I can say is I got a good Gp250 unit and have nothing bad to say about it. Checked it again and again many times over the years against the AnD 120i when it was holding a good calibration and they both hit the exact same weight down to the .02gr.

Some have had bad issues with the GP250 but even if my unit were to fail now, I wouldn’t be upset because it has served me very well for many years.

If you really want to get riled up...I also have a RCBS Chargemaster that will throw within .04gr regularly. Let the party begin! Lol.
