Accuracy of Electronic Targets

I would trust technology over a guy that may not be qualified to use a caliper or other mechanical method of measuring. We use technology much more in shooting and reloading than we may realize. From ballistic apps, digital Autotricklers and scales(same guy that developed Shot Marker developed Autotrickler, so if you trust one why not both), chronographs, range finders and the list goes on....

Our shooting range hosted a V2 F-Class Invitational event last summer with the top 64 guys in the field. Eric Cortina, Todd Hendricks and 62 other top guys relied on ShotMarker to score the event. So if they trusted it to determine their standing and scoring at the event, why should it even be an issue....?

I think that question was answered when we held the Gba 1000 Benchrest state there.

I think that's called a bandwagon fallacy.

The back-of-the-mind potential denial of points on margin shots as the wind billows around the target is making the very good wind callers try even harder to shoot X’s.

Plus, attrition is over. If those very good wind callers with headroom to their X count used to get dehydrated, sore/stiff, impatient, sunburned, or just plain pooped, forget it, they are heel-grinding us through our mats, now.

I was there, and my last match was against Brett Solomon who kicked my azz and put me out fair and square. Before doing so, our target missed FIVE of my shots and one of his IIRC. We had to switch targets. Do you think a puller would have missed five shots? Highly doubtful, and I've had some shitty pit service in the past. That being said I don't let pulled targets or Etargets keep me at home. I understand the downfalls of both going into a match......in my estimation Etargets aren't good enough for Nationals, State, Regionals or records.

The shooters aren't given the choice to shoot on a pulled target. If you are going to participate then you have to use the targets.

Personally I've opted out of more than one national level event because it was shot on e-targets.

...However, it should be noted that some e-targets will occasionally fail to record a shot for reasons that are unclear. I'm not talking about crossfires/misses, but shots that clearly hit the target and weren't recorded. In fairness, the occurrence [rate] seems to pretty rare, but I have seen it happen more than once. Nonetheless, it would be a concern for the BR shooters in the event they decided to adopt e-targets solely for the purpose of counting shots.
Yes, I have had shots not recorded on Shotmarker and Solo. {not misses which can be detected by both systems).

R dry match I’ve shot at they have been pretty accurate. Rumor that I’m hearing is that the NRA Highpower Championships is using electronic targets this year.

both systems can indicate the location or direction of misses off target
On a long range F Class target if you hit paper it's worth 5 points. You are stating if you miss the target completely, both systems register a miss? Your information says you are from a galaxy far, far away.... just what planet do you shoot on?
