6.5 PRC case has less case capacity than the 7SAUM or 7WSM. Performance is noticably better in the two magnums vs the PRC. All three are short action cartridges technically but with long heavy bullets require a medium or long action. What is the difference between this and a 7 RSAUM?
Which sizing die works with your chamber? The point of the 7-6.5 PRC was something Jay Christopherson and I worked on about 2 years back. He wanted to find something to beat the 284 in F Open. I have never really like the 284 case design but the capacity is good. I didn't want to increase case capacity much over the 284, which is why I didn't do the saum or improve the prc case. The 7-6.5 PRC is what I came up with with the same mods as the 284 Wheeler. It will run the Shehane node, 2930 ish. Lapua makes brass and it will last forever at that node. Feedback has been very promising so far. F class guys are a little more tight lipped about what they are up to but I expect you will start to see a lot more of these out there.
I've used your name a few times. Didn't really benefit from it but I'm sure the guys I gave it too did.It was brought to my attention short action customs is selling a die under my name. I have not approved his die specs or the use of my name.
Lots here would disagreeIt probably hurts more than it helps.
Go big or go home applies here IMO. Don't see any real good reason to build a small magnum 7PRC needing a magnum action when they can go Long with it offering a better performance design. Long neck design cartridge competing with the larger case magnums. Just not enough capacity to be much better than the .284 but needing a magnum action. Just my opinion. I CAN see them doing it off the 6.5 PRC case tho. They'd be some followers for sure. They are doing it but im not sure if they are doing it off of the 6.5 or 300 prc.
