Shorter Freebore 7-6.5prc

I have a short action and limited to 2.970 magazine length. I want to try a 7-6.5 Prc variant and want to use 150-168 grain bullets. Most of the reamers I’m seeing have a .200+ FB. Does anyone know someone with a shorter freebore reamer so folks can reach the lands and still mag feed without jumping bullets a mile?

I do not.

When I find myself confronted with these limitations, I call my reamer maker for his input.

We have a 7-6.5 PRC reamer with a 0.180 freebore and 1-30 degree lead which is intended for exactly what you are trying to do. Its new and as of yet unused. The two combined should get your COAL pretty close to that at the lands.

I had the same issue with my 300PRC for the bullets I use. Worked with JGS and now own my own Reamer with .060 shorter freebore. Give em a call, great folks and extremely knowledgeable.

My reamer has .045” freebore abs was designed to mag feed 180s from a short action
