What twist Pete?I shot some last year when I ran out of Varget and I can't seem to see any difference between the two. I am shooting 68 gn bullets in my rifle.
Hey Nick, I also prefer Precision in my 6BR's to Varget. My 6MMAR only really shoots Varget and when i run out I will be in transition over to Precision as well. I also like Adam's ShotMarker as i get true velocities at the target and not MV and have to interpolate. Good for you, buddy.I have been using Shooters World precision 062 in most everything I used Varget and see little difference. I do see a slight change in velocity though. At least in my 6BR rifle.
I'm load testing Match Rifle with 107's in my rifle (28" barrel) right now. I'm shooting 29.3 grains in Peterson brass with cci 450's. Results look promising so far. In the attached Chrono numbers, the slowest shot was the first on in the string after mounting the magneetospeed. After that it settled in nicely. I've also attached a target from seating depth testing (100 yards). I have loaded up some more at that depth (.005 into the lands) to see if the flyer is potentially me.I have been using the Precision, Match, and SW4350 and comparing to Varget for over 2 years and still very impressed with it. I shoot more for group size than velocity ( one takes care of the other) and prefer 600 - 1000 yds. I have found that you can't really look for a long range load by shooting at 1-200 yds and expect the same results downrange at 600/800/900/1,000.
Now switching gears a little and going after a better load for my 22 PPC. Club matches at 200 yds are fun but i would not want to shoot my LR guns with precious barrel life. My rifle likes VV N135 and N 133 but i am working up loads using SW Precision and Match to find something that works.
Anybody out there way out front on this and can share?
