Are These Primers Cratered?

Don't use cci 400 primers they have thin cups...use thick cup BR 4, Rem 7 1/2, cci 41, Winchester 41 ...the primer isn't blown its blanked, radius still appears on the edge. Bolt locked by thin cup primer blanking? ...that missing piece of primer cup is somewhere.

broken record here. Anybody ever consider "brass too short for the chamber, (brass problem, not chamber head space issue) when round fires, primer tries to back out of the pocket, gets pierced or cratered and stuffed back into the pocket by the firing pin?
And as far as the CCI primers? Fired maybe 5K and NEVER had any issues except when the brass was to short for the chamber, primers tried to back out and  KISS!!
Start at the beginning.;)

I have 2 Savage receivers, 1 is a model 12 (6.5 CM) and the other is a model 110 (6mm CM).

I was having issues with the model 12 cratering and sometimes piercing the primers (CCI 400). My model 110 does not have any issues with primers. The load data is 6.5 CM 40.5 gr H4350 and the 6mm is 40.6 gr, H4350.

I went to CCI #41 primers only 6.5 after reading articles about the slop in the firing pin hole on some Savage models. I load the CCI 400's in my 6mm CM and only #41's in my 6.5CM

The picture below is what my 400 primers were looking like in my 6.5.
Other option is to have your bolt face bushed.

Get one of those washer/bearing things made for Savages that goes in the bolt to lighten up the bolt problem. Also switch to CCI 450's or any other mag primer.

That doesn't look good, lf l was to take a guess l would say firing pin hole is over size or your cases are short, l have had two Savages 110 and 112V single shot used CCI BR primers and had some hot loads primers would flatten out but never crater out like the ones you are showing, your primers look normal other than the crater they still have round edges excess would have flattened out the primers also.
Right now I'm using CCI SRP I'm not having any problems with them I'm loading Rem. 700 SPS 223 26" barrel 1-12 twist, 24.6g Win.748 W/55g sierra spitzer .020 off the lands around 3100fps and getting 3 shot groups under .500 when l do my part, best was .078
3 shot group at 100yrd.
Win. 748 and Sierra 55g has been my go to since my bench rest days in the 70s and it did a good job then and now that's over 50yrs that is saying something for the combo l don't plan to change anything, old dogs don't like changes, that power is still easy to get now everyone wants the newest power and that's fine with me there are many negative claims about the power could be that's why it sits on the shelf plus for me.
l don't load hot never did it might be faster down the range but speeds up barrel wear I'm old so one second down range until it hits that target is no big thing to me l have slowed down some at 80.
This is what my brass looks like using sierra 55g brass is Norma CCI SRP
Targets 100yrd, yes l picked the best everyone knows what a bad target looks like 5/8 - 3/4 - 1".
This just shows that the rifle is capable of sub .250 groups at 100 yards after 3 shots it all about the shooter.
