4th Time Shooting the Mile

Got the bug last Summer to shoot ELR. I already had a bunch of 300WM components, so I picked up a Savage Elite Precision, topped with Bushnell Elite Tactical HDMRII. I downloaded the Hornady 4DOF app and plugged in my numbers. First 3 sessions I noticed a pattern with my cold bore and suspected it was .2 mil high first couple shots, then I could dial what the app calculated. This 4th trip was to confirm that suspicion and I was right, for once on something! LOL

Blue bird day 4mph 1/4 value wind at target. 1.4 mil correction

Gargoyle, thank you for the pictures. Ground that flat reminds me of an area in east central Illinois, where the land was formed by draining a large swamp. The drainage canals are still present. The best time of my life was spent on my Grandma's and Grandpa's farm. For me all that is left is the green peddle tractor that my Granddaughter still rides. Again, thanks for the mental kick this morning.

Thanks, but the goals now are consistency, and first round hits. I got my cold bore figured out thank god. My inspirations are Erik Cortina, Phillip Velayo, Bryan Litz, and anybody who helps me out on this forum!

What load you using in the
.300 WM? Curious at to the bullet and initial velocity.

Bullet: 208gr Amax (.010 off lands beginning)
Case: Privi Partisan (Remington Case capacity similar)
Primer: WLRM
Powder: RL-25 @77gr
MV: 3050fps
Temp 75 F.
Ele: 720ft absl

1760yds come up: 17.6 MRAD (Easy to remember that one!)
Cold Bore: 17.4 MRAD

looks good, but
may i suggest investing in some better bullets and some reloader 26.
bergers is the next step IMHO. then custom bullets
look at some adg brass
all the little things add up at long range

Someday when components are more available! I think my rail weights, bag rider, and Armageddon gear pint size rear sand bag will bring things together a bit more too.

When shooting a mile who said anything about being reasonable. It’s two hours one-way to my range and targets are only out to 1250 not 1 mile

Reasonable is in the eye of the beholder, I'm thinking a day or so. What I do want to avoid is flying to a range that is all set up with their gear and simply squeezing the trigger, taking a photo, and flying back.
I have 1200 yds about 3 1/2 hrs away. Not too bad.
