Central Texas Mid-Range Match Announcement (Service, F Class, Tact prone)!

I'll be out there with the other FTR guys on Saturday. I'm excited to shoot at another match that's relatively close to Austin.

I know Otis mentioned bringing 600 yard target faces for us F-Class guys; please let us know if there's anything else we could bring that would help the match/match director out.

Even though Temple might not be our home range, I think we're all interested in helping make this a successful/strong program. :)
Already looking for the advantage Mike... a 600yd face for a 500yd match.... come on man. ;)

I figured I'd circle back to this thread to provide a recap for those considering this match.

The range is a very nice facility, with perfect target frames for the shotmarker systems; zero issues with target frame attributed accuracy.

The range itself is pretty darn tricky. Really switchy winds, and big velocity changes.

Mostly slingers, but they were super accommodating to the F-Class folks; we got the red carpet treatment.

If you're in the area, consider attending. It was really well run, and a lot of great folks in attendance.

Edit: They also tolerate bad jokes rather well. :)

Continuing this thread to announce the next match:

Next match will be December 18th.

We had a great turn out with 19 total shooters for our pre-Thanksgiving match on November 20.

On the firing line we had: 5x F T/R (all .308), 2x AR Tactical, and 12 sling shooters with 2 match rifle, 2 M1A, and 8 Service Rifle. We even had a couple other rifles pop out to take advantage of the time including a M1903 Service Rifle [Clay!] Weather was good with some challenging conditions changes as the morning moved on. Positive feedback from all.

Hope to continue to meet more great folks and allow them to have an opportunity to shoot on our 500 yd, E target course.

We should be there again on the 18th ..2 of us were shooting 223s..fun times and good match.

Well that sounds like a great time. Never shot Fclass before. Have a Savage LRPV 223 7 twist I could bring out. Just need a bipod?

Do you have a Match in January on the calendar? I am traveling to Houston from Illinois for business and was planning on hitting a match at Bayou on the 16th, If you are shooting on the 15th I could come down a day early and join the fun at your club.

Just heard about this shoot on Saturday, unfortunately I'll be out of town for the Dec match, hopefully I can add to the FTR action in January.

We have one scheduled for the 18th, but with inclement weather in the forecast there is a likely weather call.

Did the two match rifle sling shooters in December use irons or optics?

I can run either but was planning to use this as an Iron sight training match with a .223 Tube gun.

Glad I came back here to review this upcoming next shoot, had to load another 22 rounds last night, forgot this one has four strings. Looks like this may be a cold one too, dress warm.

Is there any software I need to download for Shotmaker to speed things up before get there?
