Haha. I built two 6 br‘s to carry. Should be fine but I like building rifles. Lol. Just kinda thinking the 25 should be a nice shooter. For shooting deer and “speed goats“ they all work.
Pick a bullet, build a rifle to shoot it. You won’t be wrong.
I’m leaning towards the 25. What reamer did you use?I had one 6x47 lapua. That was one too many for me. So finicky with loads. Was happy when it got shot out so I could move on. Take that case and put a dasher neck and shoulder on it and every one I've built hammers.
Just built a 25x47 imp for hunting. I like a little more bullet weight than the 6mm's provide. Waiting on a tool so I can build the seating die.

Awesome. Thanks! I’ll check that outA .25-47L build includes a free VIP membership to the “cool table” at lunch. Also blackjack has a freebore recommendation on their site, and has spec’d reamers for multiple 25cal cartridges with both JGS and Manson.
Because my ‘cat is a high horsepower 25cal, and I have the mag length to do so, I went with a .185” FB (including .015” jump). I would probably go with around a .130-.150” FB for the -47L
Also if you reach out to Miles at BlackJack Bullets, he will provide plenty of useful info on the 25-47L, like COAL, seating depth, freebore, testing, whatever. He was extremely helpful with my wildcat design.Awesome. Thanks! I’ll check that out
I used two reamers. The JGS 25x47L reamer that Blackjack sells and a JGS 6mm Long Dasher reamer to improve the case.I’m leaning towards the 25. What reamer did you use?
1-7t and 1-7.5t are both common. Sometimes you will even see 1-7.25tWhats the best twist for the 131's?
I wish I’d have done a 1-7.7 for my rifle shooting at 3160fps. The 1-7.5 is fine and it’s a hammer for what I do with it, but a little less pressure from a slower twist wouldn’t hurt.I read that he recommends the 7-7.5 twist for the 25 X 47 L and 25 Creedmoor.
7.75 or slower for the larger cartridge's and Magnums
Take 7% of the recoil impulse away while improving on the ballistics of a 140gr 6.5 bullet and you have the 25x47L.I completely understand the desire to try something new/different,
But I think the stock 6.5x47L is as close to perfection as a cartridge design could be.
