I just got word that James Phillips from Tennessee recently passed. He was an avid shooter, reloader and contributor to our sport! He was one of the first guys to earn a name at IBS 600 yard shooting in the early 2000’s. He was a great guy and always eager to help new shooters. Prayers to his family, loved ones, and his best friend, Otis, that traveled with James everywhere. Samuel Hall

James took time to share some of his knowledge of tuning several calibers with me. Also shared one of his custom spec’d reamers for a custom rifle build. He didn’t know me from Adam but was eager to help. I will always be appreciative of his time and willingness to help. Wonderful man.

Oh wow, I’m shocked and saddened to hear this! I met James In the here on the forum and traded many PMs. He helped me sort out tuning issues more than once and was always very helpful with his advice. I had the opportunity to spend and afternoon with him once when I picked up a rifle that a friend purchased from James and I picked it up while I was in his area of Tennessee on business.

I am sad because his posts were always upbeat and helpful. I did see where he was selling off some guns a year or more ago. Sad.
