CCI Primer packaging - annoying

I have been using CCI primers for years but recently got a got a case of 1000 that had tape over the primer tray.

Of course they all stick to the tape and then you've got to forcibly remove them to get them into the flipper tray and they fly all over the place and I'm losing primers and it's very annoying.

I never once dumped a tray of primers out of its packaging so I'm not sure why they are doing this now.

Is this commonplace ? Is it the new norm? Far as I am concerned it is a solution to a problem that never existed.

Just be grateful you got some primers.
There is more important stuff to worry about then tape over a tray.

So I finally get some primers only to lose them as they fly into outer space trying to get them off this tape....

It's kind of like a thirsty man finally finding some water to drink only to notice some clown peeing into it...

"Grateful" might not be the right word....

Same kind of 1st world problems as the guy who posted the thread about the size of powder bottles... Except the size of the powder bottles was not causing him to lose the reloading components he finally was able to find.

Perhaps the brick you bought was packaged for stores that sometimes break them down for sale by the tray? The tape would help prevent spillage once the trays are removed from the box. That said, the trays in the CCI 450 bricks I recently purchased were not so covered.

My LGS does that.. sells them by the 100. Just puts some scotch tape on the sleeve. Thanx for the info re: the 450s.

Wish I had your problem.

Man I would have really been upset. I think you're taking it pretty mildly. :)
