Rural mail carriers

Guess I shouldn't complain too much, our "usual" carrier will bring the packages that won't fit in the box up to the porch (short driveway), BUT will then put all of the envelopes in the box at the end of the drive. Unfortunately, it's usually on the front edge of the porch, sunshine or not. ;)

Mine will come up the hill (200 yd private drive) and toot the horn. If I do not come out and meet her she will just stack them up by the garage door. Much safer than leaving them down on the county road.

A friend of mine had to build a drop box with a lid for his packages because his dog will tear the boxes to pieces to see what is in there.

When I moved in here last year, I made it a point to meet my rural carrier and introduce myself. Now she does the same as yours right down to the horn toot.....lol.

Our Rural Carriers are now contract workers; we seldom have the same person 3 weeks in a row. I hate to say it, but our service has never been better. They have, without exception, been bringing the heavy boxes of brass/bullets and all other packages to my covered porch. USPS would just leave the boxes on the ground, rain, snow, sleet or shine.:(
I think the mail actually has to be left in the box, however.
GotRDid.

Our rural mail carriers are all contractors, small town everyone know everyone, great service from the carrier if the USPS does there job. FedEx on the other hand, horrible, I don't know if it is contractor or FedEx employees. Order a bed mat for a pickup truck, it didn't arrive the day it was supposed to, tracked package and it showed delivered, call and all I got was it was delivered and left on the porch. 2 days later a neighbor a mile away shows up and says "I think this maybe yours". He found it propped up by a random tree a mile from my home.. go figure... all I can say is thank you for goof neighbors!

I sent a friend some dies and bullets and this is how the mail carrier attached the package to the lid
lol- that is good. i had a box at the house and a po box for years. mail box post just broke so im down to po box only. i like this because they keep everything usps at the post office for me till i pick it up. of coarse not far to po for me. UPS and Fed Ex always leave stuff on the porch for me and i havent had any problems. UPS will even sometimes put boxes in a plastic bag when its raining or snowing

bitch,bitch,bitch......

I have no complaints about our carriers. They are excellent. The man that normally delivers the mail is courteous and will put small boxes too big for the box on my deck with a plastic bag covering them for protection and any regular mail inside the bag. If there are multiple boxes or boxes too large for my very large mailbox, they usually are delivered by a USPS truck driven by a very nice young lady who is quite careful to place them well back on the deck and covered. And I have never had to go to the post office to pick up a package that was "too heavy".

clever use of the rubber band 'extension'. walking the dog yesterday i noticed the neighbors flag laying on the ground. now i know what may have happened. wonder how far the rubber band shot. haha

My usps women won't deliver anything over 20 lbs and leaves a note in the box to go to the post office and pick it up. If she had less donuts maybe she could do her job that she was hired for. Oh Well

I believe postal regulations are of a higher weight than that.

My carrier brings packages a hundred yards up the driveway to the house and puts them by the front door. No problems with theives around here. Good neighbors and my reputation still works.
