Watch collectors?

just about every wall in our house has clocks on them, plus to German Grandfather Clocks. About 90 % are in working order.

My compliments on the finish work of the house in general. Would have liked to see a broader shot with that picture in the upper left in it. I like well finished places and good decoration can take it to the next level. Well done.
 
I bought two seiko dive watches before I left Japan in 1974. Still have and use then. Had to replace the self winding spring in both of them. Great watches and these guys have taken a beating and a lot of time in the ocean.

I have a Slim Turtle 6309 movement seiko from the 80's, its been customized, but is still going strong! I do need to reseal it, it fogs up inside every now and again. Good watches!
 
I’ve got my granddads old gold Omega Seamaster DeVille. Also wear a Kronaby from time to time, but my daily driver is a Garmin Instinct.
 
Prices on high end watches have gone crazy along with everything else recently. Especially steel sports watches. For example Patek Nautilus has gone from 30k 5 years ago to 130k today.
 
I have a self-winding Seiko Dive Watch (Orange Monster 1st gen 7S26-0350) similar to the orange-faced one shown above. Sadly, it was a disappointment (although it has appreciated substantially in value). Simply a mediocre time-keeper. Unfortunately I am spoiled by my Quartz watches. That Seiko is only accurate to about 20-30 seconds a DAY. And yes, I've followed the advice on how to keep it running, and yes it's been adjusted by the factory (twice).

My Casios are good to a few seconds a month. As for durability, this little Casio FE10-1A is incredibly light and thin. Mine has been diving to 20m without a problem, fits under motorcycle gloves/leathers, and, being thin with smooth edges, it doesn't catch on things. My first one, which cost $10.99, lasted nearly 5 years on the battery and made it to 17 countries. I'm now on my 4th in 25+ years. I do use the stop-watch for shot timing, cooking and other duties, and it has nice BIG characters that are easy for old eyes to read. I hope Casio never stops making them. I think an argument could be made this is the best low-cost digital watch ever made. Thin, light, cheap, versatile, comfortable, easy to read. The only negative is the band may wear out before the battery goes!

Seiko for me was a huge disappointment also. I purchased a Seiko Black Series (SE493P1) two years ago. Solar Air Diver. Do to circumstances I have never even put it on. Sat on my desk getting its charge. Stopped working last Monday. Sent it to Seiko for repairs. I knew it was out of warranty. Even has the green sticker on the back. Friday they told me it was $158 to repair it. Never stating what was wrong just a generic check this, check that, adjust etc.
Called them on the phone. They told me it was out of warranty. Well I had told them that from the start. I don't expect to pay nothing but they are charging as it had been used everyday. Not one cent consideration for it being NEW.
They wouldn't budge. Paid them their $158 and the second it comes back to me I'm selling it. Want nothing to do with them.
 
This is the automatic I built for myself last year when I was down with a busted knee and home for two months. Miyota 8215 movement, Tudor style bronze pvd coated case 41mm, sapphire crystal, rolex milgauss style hands and a sterile dial. Home regulated and keeps time around +60 seconds a month.
