2021 F-Class Nationals

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this comment......but why is this even a conversation? Why is there even a question about where or if this tournament will be held?

I'll tell you why.....because for years I've watched the NRA turn it's back on the competitive shooting side. They cut funding to the point they can't serve us. I used to get frustrated with Aaron Farmer for him not doing his job. But upon reflection.....no one could with the lack of support they were given by the NRA. And to hear it's down to just Shelly this year. Unacceptable.

All while Wayne and his buddies get large raises and pensions. Living their lavish lifestyles off your dime. Then they file bankruptcy so they can protect their precious earnings with no regard for the implications of the 150th anniversary National Championships. The greed and corruption within the NRA is why this is happening yet so many seem to just accept it and point fingers everywhere but where it is due....right smack in Wayne's face.

I don't think it will really matter where the Natls. would end up being held , because there will always be a segment of those who will voice opposition and / or complaint . Growing up in N.E. Ohio , and my Dad being a fairly highly ranked Pistol shooter , we KNEW that four or five days at Perry was on the calendar . The differences between Perry and Ben Avery aren't very large . Perry can be cold, hot , humid , windy . Ben Avery can be cold , hot & NOT humid , most of the time . Both have potentially abusive wind conditions at times . Perry has occasional , "Cease Fires" , for ig-or-ant boaters . B.A. has occasional "Cease Fires" for animals crossing the range . ( They were there first )......B.A. is twenty-five miles away . Atterbury is about 2,100 miles away . But I wouldn't make the trip to Atterbury because of the distance . I've made the Run to the Wall , thirteen times . I've been in Indiana in July for two National Parachuting Championships at Richmond . 95 and 95 ! 95 degrees , and 95% humidity . Pass on that one thing alone . I'll wait for the FCNC to come back to BA in 22 . Even if it is in July , and it's 114 in the shade . It's a DRRRRRYYYY heat . ;):D:D:D

Personally, I would like to see the Nationals moved every other year like it has been. I think it should rotate between the “west”, the “east” and the “central” zones of the USA. If not that kind of format, then I would like to see it held every year at Whittington Center in Raton. It is the NRA long range site, few people live there so there is no real “home town” advantage, and it is a formidable range for sure! The “cream will come to the top”!

I agree but the only issue is the ranges that can accommodate all the shooters. Not many ranges in central or eastern that can do that. Plus the people that can run it. Most just want to bitch about it not being held anywhere else like the east but don’t want to put in the work to hold it

A match in October would be a great thing, call it whatever you want it will still draw the best shooters. Id be willing to work the event if help was needed.

If Raton weren't such a crap hole, I would heartily second your idea, Skip. Every year, it seems like another hotel or restaurant goes away. It makes it hard to like going there.

But the range...oh, man....world class for sure. :)

Hey Whiner. Get a camper or tent and stay onsite. It’s always a good time.
Who needs food when there is enough alcohol lol

Bite me , cave man. :p Competitor housing is OK but sells out FAST. Guess YOU could do the primitive cabins...LOL
Don’t tempt me with a good time lol. You know I would bite you lol lol.
Every time I have been there, I pitched a tent. It was a good time. Now I have a camper. I am stepping up in the world lol
