I believe the ranges at Atterbury all face south, but you are correct. It does get hot in the pits!

How does that work? Last I checked, Indiana was a bit north of the Tropic of Cancer and that would put the pits on a north-facing range in the shade, regardless season.

The Viale range at Perry has no impact berm, or it didn't last time I was there (circa 2005). Putting your finger on the crossbar hoping to detect a .223 hit only gives crinks in the neck. It's much easier to listen to the guy with the radio screaming at you. I think it will be easier to detect a real bullet, like a 6mm, hitting the target. Also, please be aware that the bullet hitting your target is the only one you get to hear in stereo.

Camp Swift doesn't have berm either, just a mess of trees. Connaught doesn't have a berm either, but then again, we didn't get to pull targets at that time. The bullets all go into the Ottawa river or Quebec.

I haven't been to Atterbury yet, so I'm looking forward to it.

The further north of the Tropic of Cancer you go, the more it snows.

5 days or F-mid range
4 days of F-long range

I could F myself into exhaustion
