Been buying from Optics planet for years never any issues....They had a good deal on a certain scope so bought two of them...After 2 weeks of fraud checks (which they said was do to high dollar item) they shipped...Showed up in a beat to hell box with one little air pillow in it. Scope boxes seemed ok, so proceeded to check everything out. First was perfect as expected, opened box two and the contents have all been opened and can almost see light ring marks. (ring marks could of been from factory qa test rig) I called to inquire if I got a returned scope (which took 2 days and about 5-6 calls). finally got ahold of someone yesterday and was told yes it happens and no way to tell what I got. They offered a full refund, but processing is running about a month. My rant is I understand the person that put the scope back in stock probably just glanced over it and really doesn't know much about the product, but all the contents repackaged in torn bags should of been a hint to maybe sell it as a demo/return.....

They fell off their rocker a few years back. Just be glad you actually got your scope in a reasonable time frame and we’re able to return it. Said this many times, NEVER order from Optics Planet.... even if an item says in stock and will ship within a certain time frame.

Sucks.

But remember to keep things in perspective. The company did the right thing and offered a full refund. An employee screwed up either out of ignorance or because they didn't care. And it couldn't have happened at a worse time for anything firearm related.
agree they did offer a refund.. and I could return it. All good. It just goes back to a $3200 scope being returned the first time someone might of Scrutinized it a little better. But I get it, it’s a warehouse...

Dvor, an Optics Planet subsidiary, has the same business plan. Three weeks to ship an in stock item. Email inquiries were answered with "Great news, your item will be shipping soon!" Never again with either entity, many small companies out there who believe in putting customers first.

I have a love hate relationship with optics planet. If they actually have what I want in stock they have been great. Their shipping times used to be a lot better and they have kind of slipped on that even pre pandemic but they do have good prices on most things. Dvor however, I love. There are fantastic deals to be had on there if you poke around and don't mind the wait for it to arrive at your door. I picked up a Proof 26" blank in 6mm with a 7.5 twist last year for $400. Can't beat that.

I thought I was the only one who had problems with them, I'm done as well but have some outstanding orders yet to arrive, no new orders will be given. Even if they do "throw you a bone" chances are they won't honor it when the time comes to use it.

Wow. I thought I was the Whine Azz complaining about optics planet. Ordered several boxes of bullets that didn't say out of stock but rather limited availability. They allowed me to order and a week later said they were out of stock on all I ordered. I understand the being out of stock but state "Out of Stock" in the process rather than finishing my order. The refund takes 3-5 days. Maybe it's me but ignorance pisses me off.

Two words:

Sport Optics

They support the ASF site and give a discount to its members.

If they say it's in stock, it is, and you get it when they say you will. Bonus, when you call them they actually answer the phone

They are everything Optics Planet wishes it was.

I am really glad you posted this! I've never ordered from OP but had just finished an online search of a few items and assumed they were a top dog company.
I'm in the backwoods where deliveries are "anyones guess" at best, so more hassle(less service) just ain't at the top of any list of mine.
Needless to say, they just missed my few bucks.

I feel really bad hearing about this. OP have to do something about this. It's like there's a huge delivery problem with the carrier companies these days.
Some spoke about putting customers first.... Nowadays companies put their interests first.

Ordered a jacket - said "In Stock", 5 weeks later and one "Where the hell is my Order" email from me, got a return email saying it will ship "Soon", three weeks later I cancelled the order. As soon as I get my credit card refunded (naturally they charged my card 2 days after placing the order) I will be removing them from my Bookmarks.

Now you guys tell me. I ordered a scope from them yesterday. I'm glad I don't need it anytime soon. Stay tuned.

Years ago, they were great. Fantastic prices and reasonably accurate estimates on shipping/delivery dates.

I've also gotten great deals from their DVOR branch - knowing that they do pre-sales there and the wait would be long.

Now though, it seems their attention to detail and accuracy is non existent. The only thing I'll order from there is small parts that I'm just wanting to have as backups. I don't think I'd order any high dollar item that I'd be concerned about returning.

I've never had a bad deal with O.P. Bought a couple of scopes from them
back when they gave added discounts.
The stuff I bought said they had more than one in stock.
I think people need to look at the inventory listed carefully
and have to be patient with the shipping right now.

I have never had any problems with Optics Planet. Yes, they have been slow shipping over the past months, but I think they are operating on reduced staffing and USPS, FedEx and UPS have all had delays with deliveries to me.

I have not ordered from them before and my attempts to order a damned expensive bipod recently took up weeks without getting any help or information. If that much trouble to order, I didn't trust their delivery especially after reading about them here. For others, if they have taken your money and don't allow you to speak by phone with them, they are banned for life in my book.
