Nosler 300 WSM brass

Just started using it so I don't have any long term feedback. But it is very consistent in weight, dimensions, and flash holes are already chamfered and deburred. Basically it is ready to load out of the package.

It weighs more than Winchester and has slightly less case capacity. New Winchester case weighs around 226-227 grains. Nosler brass weighs around 260-261 grains.

Nosler brass is made by what use to be SSA (Silver-State Armory in Oregon).
I don't believe that the Nosler brass is as tough as the Norma brass is in 300 WSM based on use in 3 BR (1000 yd) Rifles & 1 Tactical shooter. - My observation under a 20x magnifier are that Norma Brass and Nosler brass are two different compositions. - Norma has more copper element in it. - The 50 pieces of Nosler that I've tried where every bit as uniform regarding total case weight spread and neck thickness, but it isn't as physically tough as Norma brass is, especially in the primer pockets.

And Yes, it's hi-time that one of the custom makers (Lapua, ADG, Alpha or Peterson) stepped up to the plate, makes the tooling and produces this caliber !!!

- My .02 -

Tried Nosler brass in a 280AI it definitely didn't hold up as well as Norma and was more expensive in Australia. Wish Peterson would step up to the party.

When it comes to brass Nosler's own people either don't know or they like to keep things a mystery because I talked to them awhile back and yes they have their own brass line now but they don't make their own brass for everything and Norma still makes some of it but getting an answer on which brass is the stuff they make and which is Norma was something I could not seem to get a straight answer on.

I've heard ADG has said they are going to start making some WSM brass in 2021 but only time will tell.

Peterson has 280AI listed on their website as one of them they make brass for.

Nosler 300 wsm sells for more than Peterson CheyTac in Canada. Surely to God somebody can afford to make it.

Maybe someone will know this but considering not many others have made WSM brass I always wondered if there was some licensing deal with Winchester and the royalty, if there even is one, to make WSM brass was to steep.

With Lapua now making brass with a magnum .535 case head size it sure would be nice if they'd jump in to the WSM brass making business too.

If the general quality is so terrible for the 300 wsm in anyones opinion.
RWS has been making ammunition for it for plenty of years if you are desperate after a higher quality 300 wsm case.

I hadn't thought of RWS making 300WSM brass. My first born son has a spare kidney I might have to sell to acquire some RWS WSM brass.
I have been using some Nosler 300 WSM brass, but as others mentioned, it is a little soft and primer pockets are very loose after a few firings.

Getting someone to Import RWS Brass into the U.S. seems to be where the "stop-gap" comes into play. - Huningtons are the only source here in the U.S. for RWS brass that I'm even aware of (and 300 WSM is not listed in their offerings). - If someone could over-come that issue and get RWS to the market-place here in the U.S. I'm sure it would sell even if the price was higher than all the other providers.

Yep. A few years back Midway USA started dumping the RWS loaded 300WSM + other calibers cheap. At the end I bought it for 15-18 dollars a box of 20. At first they had a 3 box limit but later they just dumped it cheap. Every day I’d order 3 more boxes until they quit limiting it. At the end it was buy as much as you wanted. I bought 30-06, and 308 also.

Their 300WSM comes in the form of loaded ammo rather than plain brass unfortunately.
