Shipping - Who should I use.

Was planning on advertising a few things for sale in the classifieds and other places, but Im hesitating because I usually ship USPS and they are so backlogged/ messed up--- Ive got one thing right now thats been out there somewhere over 2 weeks and some people have longer I know. I was hoping USPS would recover from the holiday traffic but who knows how long that will take. Never had to much trouble with them in the past but Im thinking of starting to use a different shipper now. Anybody else doing that and how is it working? and who is it? Thanks

FedEx is my go to shipper now, I’ve personally not had any major issues with the USPS up until about 2 months ago and since then I’ve lost 4 packages and currently have 2 that are being randomly shipped to various places across the US for whatever reason. I receive a lot of packages from all of them weekly and I understand things happen on occasion but the lack of a reliable tracking service and lost packages from the USPS have made me avoid them now. Fed-Ex has never lost a package, rarely shows up late and 90% of the time is at least a day ahead of schedule, it may be a few dollars more to ship using them but I’m always confident I won’t have any issues to deal with. Not to mention their drivers always seem much friendlier and eager to please as well so my vote is Fed-Ex..

Kind of crazy with all the backlog at USPS but they had no problem at all getting me three mail in ballots(that I never asked for )for the Democratic Party that I have never had anything to do with and never will. I still have friends and family that have not received their Christmas cards yet. Maybe we need to give them the benefit of the doubt they may be dealing with people being sick with the Covid thing and a lot of extra orders that is typically true around the holidays. Normally USPS has been good to me.

I am waiting on a package shipped from Ohio on December 16 and scheduled to arrive on the 24th. The package is still sitting in a post office in Ohio. Not the best time to ship with USPS. However, I have used them in the past regularly with few complaints.

it is true they have been hit with several big issues at once. I do hope they get it fixed and ill use them again. For now though i am not gonna keep sending things and having them get lost.

Been having good results with fedex. Ups has been running a day or two late. Usps is a crap shoot. May get it a week late......may not get there at all
a day or two late is no big deal to me, its the crapshoot I wont tolerate. Thanks for the info

thats the way with me usps has worked until recently. Last package tracking doesnt even show where it is. last entry was dec 21. thanks

I priority mailed a flat rate envelope from Ky to Or on Dec16
so far in 18 days it has traveled 120 mi. I have used priority mail exclusively for close to 20yrs w/very few hiccups until the virus hit.
I hope better days are ahead. LDS
Im in IN and ive found with USPS shipping to OR has been sketchy for a few years. Shipping east of here has been much quicker and more reliable. like you Of all the priority boxes Ive mailed there has never had a problem except a little late delivery until lately. hope they fix it but gotta get different shipper for now.

UPS or Fed-Ex would be the wiser choice. A little more expensive
but product will get there.
I wouldn't use the USPS for a couple more weeks.
Right now they are all dealing with people using gift cards and returns.
Takes a couple weeks past the first of the year to get back to somewhat normal.

I feel your issues. Once it goes to the dist center in Chicago, it's a black hole. Still waiting for a USPS deliver from Wisc to NY. It's still at the dist center since Aug of last year.

wow thats a long one. I knew there were many more besides me.

I've had two issues with USPS in the past 3 months, one item was 3 weeks late arriving thru just the regular mail in a regular envelope, and then most recently a package was about 10 days late, priority mail on the last. Fedex lost a package coming from Sinclair's in early 2020 (big surprise there), but it was replaced by Sinclairs and shipped timely. I chalk it up to virus related issues, but when the tracking # doesn't show any movement for several days, I do wonder about things. LOL
