One very key thing to point out when using Kiwi Neutral color shoe polish is that you need to actually “polish” it out just like you would on a boot. Apply it on the surface, let sit for about 5 minutes, then come back with a clean rag and polish all the surfaces to a shine. I’ll usually do two layers just to make sure I didn’t miss any spots because if a metal surface already has a polished finish, you can’t even see the kiwi once you polish it out.
If you just apply the kiwi without polishing, it won’t release as easy and will leave a thicker uneven layer between the metal and the epoxy.
When Kiwi is applied properly, no other form of release agent will give a thinner layer between the metal and the epoxy, break free from the bedding easier, or clean up as easy as Kiwi.
