Alpha 6BRA brass release.

So Alpha has released their 6BRA brass it looks like. I had great success with their dasher brass, but I wonder if this makes sense. The cartridge is already easy to fireform to.

I still want to try the Peterson 6BR brass to fireform and put against Lapua in the BRA. We’ve got great options, it looks like. I’m going to have to get 100 just to try them out, I believe.

Ditto. I have a Sako 243 win that I’m going to rebarrel in 6BRA so if nothing it would be handy to cut down on fireforming and keep my rounds segregated.

I have had a couple versions over the last 6 months for testing. The final version, I ran about 100 fps faster than the "high node" without a pressure sign. In my opinion it will run with Lapua easily as far as that goes.
Is this brass well suited to your “#1” 6BRA chamber specs?

David

I’ve used the dasher brass and have 7-8 firings on some pieces. It has held up well. I have noticed that if you put a full load in there first firings, it’ll have ejector marks. If you first shoot a “fireform” load out of it, these marks won’t happen.

The volume is slightly smaller, about 3/4 grain h2o from what I remember. It was worth about 30 fps for the same charge as Lapua. Even with the smaller volume it went over 3100 fps, so I am impressed with it. Im not recommending that, but the normal high node around 3000 should be no problem.

How is alphas brass holding up for people?
So far I run alpha in my 6creed and 25 creed and have 7 firings of hard use on my 6 creed and still going strong with 1 trimming and it really didn’t need it, and 2 firings of extreme hard use on the 25 creed and 3 firings of just hard use and no issues no trims yet!

very excited will be purchasing the bra from them for sure. 1 less step and less barrel wear.

Yes, its what they based it on. The stuff I got needed to be bumped in my die to chamber. It was a touch long. A good thing in my opinion. I prefer to fit the brass rather than have it stretch.
I was testing this brass too and noticed the same. Had to bump back a hair to get it to fit in my chamber. I also used Alpha’s 6BRA reamer and it has been a pretty accurate. Glad you were a part of the test and offered your expertise.
