When I was around 10-12 I was already pretty tall but I always had to ride in the middle and I remember my head bouncing off the roof of those old pickups just about every time we drove around out on somebody’s farm. That was before concussion protocols were a thing. I also remember having three hard helmet to helmet collisions playing Hempstead at 15 years old, that each left me and the same running back both laying flat on our backs in the same game.
