Lowest pull weight / dependable trigger for 10/110 Savage platform ??

Folks,

I'm getting pretty spoiled with my BixnAndy trigger on the REM platform! I want to switch triggers out on the Savage. I have a SSS trigger on the Savage (which is considered a great trigger on Savage), but pull weight is still too heavy. I want to go less than 1lb.

What do you guys think the lowest pull weight / dependable trigger for 10/110 Savage platform is on the market right now??

The problem with a Savage and lighter trigger, they are too much tolerance built in.... You can't put a good trigger in one, Jewell tried..... jim

You probably already have the best trigger, that’s the curse of the Savage; no great triggers!

Yep, they are made to throw together and shoot decent, No precision. They satisfy 95% of the shooters.... jim

I can get them down to about 5-6 oz with no AD by slamming the bolt and bumping the rifle. I get a little nervous at 4 oz. The target Accutrigger can go down to about 6-8 oz reliably.

Application and Adjustment matters. These are on Target Rifles. I don't slam or bang them. I do run them fast.

I have a Timney on my Mod 10. Not madly light, but very crisp, short clean pull with no overtravel. I removed the safety as the rifle is only used on a range.

+1 on rifle basix i have the SAV 2 on a couple rifles. I have them set somewhere between 10 and 16 oz. Nice triggers. They do require some breaking in and readjustment or they can get to light..

My SSS evolution trigger is set at 1.25 lbs. Pretty low for hunting but I love the trigger. The best one for the Savage actions IMO. The red blade accutrigger isn't bad either.

I have 2 Rifle Basix in a couple of bench Varmint rifles ( 20 Practical). Love them. But definitely not carry guns. Both set around 5-7 oz.

Expanding the Oleg S post above, I have looked at the Jard website and find it quite interesting. It comes in either black or silver and has 2 pull weight versions....13-18 oz & 7-12 oz. It's also totally self contained, meaning it replaces the factory sear.

You are correct Mike.
I replaced Basix with JARD and set it at 8.5 oz on my son’s Savage.
No special tools or skills needed.

All Savage triggers are trash compared to Remington style aftermarket triggers but the best I have used in a Savage is the SAV 2. Not a simple drop in installation but easy enough if you follow instructions and well worth it over the factory trigger for the price
