Are All Spotting Scopes, Under $2,000, Made in China?

I bought the Kowa 883 and 2 eye pieces earlier this year. Outstanding glass

My 82SV ( the cheaper one than yours). Seems really clear but past 300 yd My eyes aren’t gonna see bullet holes in the target. Is the 883 any better? Mabie I should trade.

Nah, I doubt you will see enough difference to spend the extra $$. The one you have is great. The glass on the 883 is superb but it is a LOT more $ than what you have. I don't use mine to see bullet holes at extreme distances. It is for mirage and scoring primarily which in truth does not require the very best glass.

Thanks and sounds right. The scope on my rifle generally has top end power greater than that spotter. Guess if I wanna see very far I’ll have to ge5a target cam.

I am running the Leupold SX-4 Pro guide HD and I love it. It can be had for around 1k. The SX-5 is supposedly better and still under the 2k mark.
 
Pentax is made in Japan...... 65mm, 80mm. and 100mm. are all under that figure and the 100 mm. can resolve bullet holes at 1000...... jim
