6mm Dasher Loads

I think you're good with a 1:7. I'm shooting a 1:7, principally with Berger 105 Hybrids, and it shoots well. The faster twist rate will allow you to get the maximum BC benefit from the longer 110 gr. and 115 gr. bullets, even though they may stabilize in a 1:8 twist barrel.

I'm also running a 1:7 in a 6 XC with velocities in the mid-3,100 fps range and have not had a bullet come apart on me yet.

Good luck.

Thanks for your help. Originally the barrel was going to be a 6x47L, but I purchased a prefit for that project. So I'm thinking I'll make this one into a 6 Dasher. Thanks again.

Great choice! You're gonna like the Dasher. Give RL-16 a try, but you'll need a drop tube!

I pulled my remage barrel from the 700 action and installed it on a new defiance tenacity and had to rework my load as the headspace tolerance is slightly tighter. Ended up @ 107smk, norma brass, cci 450, and 33.8gr re16

I'm back with another question. Hope that you don't mind? I talked to Ben at Peterson Cartridge and he said that in 2 weeks they will have 6 Dasher brass for sale. Having it with SRP and .059" flash holes, any thoughts?

I use Peterson brass in my .260 AI and my 6 XC. I switched from Lapua for my .260 and I found Peterson's offering to be the equal of Lapua, maybe even a little better in terms of dimensional consistency. As for durability, I only have 5 cycles on the Peterson .260 brass but they still feel and look like new. No mishaps with fire forming, either. As for the 6 XC, that's the only brass I've used for this chambering and I've been very happy with it as well.

I had heard rumors of Dasher brass coming from them but I recently bought a couple of hundred Alpha Dasher cases to try. If I hadn't done that, I would certainly give Peterson Dasher brass a try. My experience has been very positive so far and, this is big for me, it's made in the U.S.A. All other things being equal, an American company will always get my business.

Lapua 6BR hydroformed+1xfired / CCI450 / 105gr Hybrid / 34gr RS52 -> 2990fps from a 26" Bartlein barrel. I'll probably back it down a bit to get a better SD ( currently around 7/8 fps over 10-15 shots)

S062 ? Varget Substitute ?
Has anyone tried it in a Dasher or BRX ?
It works will in .223 Gas Gun with HV Bullets !

I have a Norma Dasher that works well with Varget and 105 HB and 103 Vapor Trails .

I may play with it down the road ?

Does anyone know what exactly is the trim to length of the dasher cartridge. Does it depend on what reamer is used. Looking at building one and info is limited. Thanks in advance.

Wouldn't it depend on the reamer spec (chamber length)?

If the reamer chamber is 1.570 - then you may trim cases to a specific length X.

If the reamer chamber is 1.560 - you may elect to trim cases to a different length Y.
