Canopy for shooting in winter weather

My semi-local range does not have any amenities. There's one rickety bench and zero cover from the elements. I want to get some kind of cover, so I can shoot in the cold/wet months and still keep my rifles dry. I can't possibly be the first person to think of this, but I can't find any products that match my description. Just looking for something waterproof that I can setup and tear down quickly. Anyone have any ideas?

I have had one many years.
allot of ppl have canopies. 120.oo last I looked. You can get sides our just use tarps clipped on.
I'll suggest a straight legged one.

Only problem with the regular canopy types is that rain can still come in through the sides, and the ones I've tried to use in the past are very difficult to get setup without two people. JMayo has the right idea with putting tarps on the sides, but it's just one more thing to carry and assemble.

Get a cargo trailer. Backup to the line, open up, put jacks under the corners for support.

Good idea, but no driving on the range grass. It's a 100 yard walk to the bench.

The slant leg ones have one problem, they won't fit together.
In the 22 bunch we all have them and we set them side by side creating a flee market look on the back of the bench cover.
And yes we all say "I've got too much chit" when pack up time comes. My truck bed is full. Mine is a Coleman and it's 9 yrs old.

I guess I should have specified that I shoot (or should I say, practice) F-TR, so everything is from the prone position. I found some good online sources of USA-made fabrics, and I'm considering making my own. Man enough to admit that I own a sewing machine.

For F-TR just open it up and don’t raise it. I put ours up quite often alone and it’s a bit of a problem but the alternative is to sit on your hands and say this that or the other thing won’t work. And stay home.

The stake pockets could support a custom made cover. It’s all aluminum, except for the “floor”, which is wood. I can push it around by myself with ease.

Harbor Freight 10x10 canopy . Set up is about 5 minutes after a little practice. To close the sides use some tarps and large clothes pins. Put a Heater Buddy in there and you`ll never want to leave. You can buy screw in dog stakes as anchors on Amazam and tie it down. It works for me in 25-35 mph winds. Best money I have spent since my Wife`s Ring. But not as pricey! Jeff

I have one of those 8’x 8’pop-up canopies that would probably be ideal for that

If you have the funds the enclosed trailer with 4 jacks on all 4 corners seems the best option. Back it up to the firing line, open doors, level, add a buddy heater and shoot.

If budget is the only way to go, pop up canopies with 3 walls. Add the buddy heater, it will knock the cold down. Easy, somewhat fast, and easier on the budget.
