Canopy for shooting in winter weather

I would suggest a camping tent but they are such a pain to set up. Ground blind is not to bad an idea depending on your shooting discipline may vary though. f

Work Party ? Build a covered area ? Donations ?
This has worked in Fly Over Oregone ???

I have seriously thought about rounding up the shooters in Pullman and seeing if we can get a local farmer to donate the land if we pay to set it up and maintain it indefinitely. Despite being a small college town, there are lots of shooters here, and most of them are not the ones you would suspect. The big problem around here is that everything is farmland, but I work in ag research and know a lot of the farmers. Guaranteed I could have 50 people tomorrow willing to pay $100 per year for close access to a covered range. I just have to find the farmer who's on board with the idea. Right now, the closest range is a 30 minute drive and only offers 100 yards.

In the mean time, I have considered tents (a two person dome tent with an awning would work), portable blinds (although the best configurations seem to be dog blinds), and all sorts of other canopies. It all comes down to portability, ease of setup, rain protection, and reasonable pricing. Good suggestions everyone.

I just use a 40$ ozark trail 10x10 pop up from wally. If im doing prone work, I dont pop it up all the way. Works pretty well for me and if a darn dust devil puts the hurt on it, ehh, it was only 40$. I typically replace it once a year with how much I use it, it only costs about .50 cents everytime I use it. Worth it for all the sunburns its saved me in the az sun.

Clunker,
I have spent a lot of time in Pullman.
Find a farmer that is a shooter/hunter. If your group would set up and maintain the range it may be a possibility.

1. Place an ad with the local radio farm report radio station.
2. Place an add on the bulletin board at the farm bureau/cenex.
3. Ask the ag extension agent for suggestions.
4. Place an ad on the bulletin board at the range 30 miles away.
5. There are sure to be many private shooting lanes on farms that may
be interested in having improvements and camaraderie.

I would recommend the following:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TMBENDS/?tag=accuratescom-20

I purchased this one and it does set up with only one person in about 2 minutes from start to finish.

What is also nice is if you get the larger one, you can use it for more than just at the range. By having the mesh sides, you also have vision around you for safety purposes. This is not the case with the ice fishing shelters as their sides are solid. You can purchase the optional sides for the model that i listed above.
