6mmbr Peterson brass reviews in 6br or Dasher

Should be noted that these are not "Peterson Select Match grade brass" so they are not guaranteed to be within 1 gr.
Dang, I wish I had seen this post earlier. I had no idea select brass was even an option. I would have gladly paid the extra if it meant I didn't have to turn necks. I had a lot more neck wall uniformity issues than I expected.

Not sure Select 6BR Brass is available yet. Also not sure select brass will help with the neck wall thickness uniformity. You can call Peterson to see...

So I'm seeing that Peterson is making 6 Dasher brass now. Has anyone tried it yet? I'm not seeing it for sale on their site, yet I have found it for sale from a private source. Evidently it's just came out this last weekend. Has anyone else heard this? Thanks

a quick email this morning to Peterson yielded this reply:

doesn't appear to be available yet.

Check out the photos of the 5 pieces I lost out of a box of Peterson expanding 6BR to 30BR.
The other thing that I noted was that their 6BR virgin brass was shorter then spec, so when I expanded to 30BR the case length is much shorter then my chamber length.
YES I used lots of lube!
Lapua only for me.

Not yet, but I just got off the phone with the sales guy from Peterson Cartridge. Sorry I can't remember the guys name right off. My apologizes to him if he see's this and I'll correct it later. Anyways he said that they are manufacturing the 6 Dasher brass and it should be available to the public through them and also Graf & Sons. Dimensions are very close to Lapua, except that the necks will be a little thicker. Closer to .014" - .0142", if I remember correctly. Price was given to me at $57 per plastic box of 50 and $500 per bulk bag of 500. And yes they are SRP and .059" flash hole. I can hardly wait.

This happened to me also going up in three steps to 30 BR with lots of lube . Called peterson and never did here back so it is Lapua from now on .

To confirm— your Peterson 6br cases are cracking at the shoulder despite being used in a 6br chamber? And after only 3x firing?

I have done the collapsed shoulders when working with a wildcat. This is caused by not enough lube in the neck and trying to step up (or down) too much at a time.

I do apologize if you never heard back. I do call everyone back that leaves me a message. Sometimes it is not the same day but always within the next day or two. Please feel free to reach back out if there is anything that we can help you with.

Everyone,

We are happy to help remedy any situation that is going on. These issues that you guys are talking about are the first that we have seen. I would like to talk to everyone that is having any problems to try and fix what is going on and make it right. By contacting us and letting us know of these problems is the only why that we can fix what might be happening. We run all our brass through rigorous testing in our lab to make sure that they are going to hold. But also understand that every rifle is different, and everyone's reloading process is different. Please either call me 724-940-7552 Ext. 205 or email me bpreston@petersoncartridge.com I really look forward to discussing any of the problems and getting this all corrected.

I spoke to Ben about my crushed and split necks just trying to purchase a few extra pieces to replace those that I lost. I was informed I could only purchase brass thru Graf & Son and I knew they wouldn't sell single pieces. So after reading other shooters reports I decided to donate all my Peterson brass to the recycle bin at the range for everyone's safety.
GO LAPUA!

If you would have asked us for a couple pieces to replace those, we would have just sent them to you. The only people that we have had to tell no to is the people that are wanting to purchase whole boxes. We are more than happy to send replacement cases to people.

Ccrider...yes class reply but when I called and explained to Ben my experience with their brass and that I wanted to purchase some replacements that is not the reply I received. So now it is he said or he said.
In any case in all the hundreds pieces of Lapua brass that I have expanded over the years I have NEVER lost a piece to a crushed neck! Split a few YES.
I might also mention for a very long time Lapua has always miss counted their brass by +one just in case I do something stupid.
