6mmbr Peterson brass reviews in 6br or Dasher

I would like to here reviews on both the 6br and 6 be dasher.

I turned some right out of the box and FF some Dasher cases. That's as far as I made it. Out of 15 rouunds, I lost one. Weird how it separated. Never had a Lapua do this.

The question I have how did they weight in comparison to lapua brass from top to bottom on a scale.

I only weighed about 20...had about a grain spread. There were 14 that spread .3

They are about 7 grains heavier than my Lapua cases. The Lapua has been fired if that has any merit

Im really hoping Peterson knocks brass quality outta the park and sets a standard.. i hate to see this on br brass...

Id really like to buy US made brass.

heavier but I don't remember just how much. I do remember necks were slightly thicker than current Lapua; maybe just a wee bit more consistent.

my Peterson 6xc brass is great...neck thickness is .0141 to .0143 on 100 cases....measured at 5 spots It was crazy good..and took forever

Weighed a box of 50. 46 were within .9 gr. 33 were within .5 gr.

I did find 4 cases that weighed a full 2.0 gr less than the collective. Not sure if it means anything - just an interesting observation.

I did a small test with primer pockets against my Lapua brass in a straight six br and was very impressed to say the least so now I want to step out and do the same test on a Dasher because like a couple poster said the uniformity of weight is phenomenal and the brass itself held up very well in the straight 6br if it does equally as well in primer pockets in the Dasher I'm going to get all of it i can get.

Stan, Getting old sucks, can't sleep anymore. I have everything tore apart, Turned the necks on 200 Lapua cases....... jim

No... I did not anneal. I will anneal remaining cases to see if it helps

Measured twenty random cases and necks are .0128-.013.

Look inside the cases with your bore scope and see if there is a line on the inside.... jim

Just shot some at 100 with a chrono. They shoot 50 fps faster and obviously more pressure. Left over match loads with Lapua cases were shot to compare.

So.. You will need to develop loads for these cases. This is my findings so far.

Chuck uses the the ridge left by the neck turner as a false shoulder, it backed up by a bullet is way better than expanding and necking down to a false shoulder. .... jim

The separation happened at the original 6br shoulder diameter and neck angle. I've never had a Lapua separate like that. Usually when a Lapua case is lost is due to a fold or crease that is on the angle. I think is there from manufacturing. If you know what you are looking for, you can cull out 2 or 3 per hundred and use them for straight 6br cases. Not saying the Peterson is bad, annealing may help. The more I form, the more that is learned. Spring time projects...

Weighed another batch/box of 50 - found 2 more that are 3 grains below the average of the other 47....

Should be noted that these are not "Peterson Select Match grade brass" so they are not guaranteed to be within 1 gr.
