Bore scope or not?

Debating on picking up a Teslong borescope which cost about 80 Canadian.

Are they worth buying or us it just something that will keep you paranoid of your barrel condition ?

They are worth the $$, but will make you paranoid at the same time. You will discover that your cleaning routine will need to be revised, you'll start reading every thread about the dreaded carbon ring, the best copper/carbon cleaning solvent is ______, and many many more gun maintenance/cleaning threads.

If I remember right, that scope was pretty cheap. I’d say for the cost, that’s a pretty decent picture.

mine helps me with my cleaning routine. I bought the Teslong that works with my iPhone

Recently bought the NTG 100 flex shaft model,[.195 diameter ]best 50 Usd ever Spent, way better than Lyman borescope, way cheaper, better pictures,Great for checking for carbon/ copper ring at back of throat, for .20 cal up,can't be beat

Without a borescope you are guessing barrel condition.
You get certain results from certain conditions.
Dont let it "bore" you to death.
Good handy tool.

Well worth it. Just remember, the ones that plug directly to your device will not work on IPhones. IPhones don't send enough power to the connection. They will work on Chrome books, Android phones, Mac and Windows laptops and most tablets that have USB, Mini-USB or USB-C ports. The cable end gives you options. IPhones require the WiFi model.
Run into issues, pm me.

Do you have a link to this model???

My 50 dollar teslong has saved me a lot of time and money . I have bought a few "low round count" guns that turned out to be duds . Glad I looked before I decided to start working on loads .

ouch!

OTOH i just picked up a used bbl that in first two powders tried in ladder tests half the steps had touching holes, despite a couple of 'anomalies' in the bore.

so, like many things.... "it depends....."

100 percent agree....you just never know . I have many rifles that shoot very well despite what you would think after looking at their bores .

Buy it. Do like i did.
When you first get it use it but dont worry about what you see unless its a problem gun. For me its just another tool in the tool box. I learned a bore snake does no more cleaning after its 2nd or 3rd pull. It does a bulk of the heavy lifting but 2 or 3 pulls and no more.

At first, a teslong will make some folks paranoid. Now that I know better what look for and what not to worry about, my cleaning routine is faster and easier since carbon, copper and fouling can be addressed before they become hard to deal with.

Another yes vote for having it. For $50 it's a no brainer. Can also use the scope for other things like looking inside walls, cylinders, etc.

Get one.
+1 to what others have said.
You don't know if a barrel is truly clean unless you can look inside. Of course, the next issue is deciding what "clean enough" is. I'm still working on that one.
